cunard living off old charm . needs to catch up. by matronsue

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Queen Mary 2

Cunard delivers lovely accommodation and food , with beautiful interiors . Outside spaces are tired and lacking compared to other cruise lines. A lovely holiday but cunard excursion to Hamburg ruined it for us. Rusty dirty pools with broken tiles. First cruise we have never been able to swim.

We only had 3 nights on board. Enough for us to yearn for more! A beautiful ship with a well deserved reputation for class and luxury. ‘We’ll be back’

Not Good by fletch60

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2

Disappointing, was supposed to be celebrating my 60th. This ship was on a world cruise if we had gone to the cancelled ports, Australia wouldn't have let the ship into there waters, others cruise ships were stopping

A sad ending due to the virus by rbernat6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Many ships understandably stopped going to China and Hong Kong. Cunard chose to eliminate every port in Asia. Other ships, even from the Carnival line, had no such problem. We know for sure that Seabourn Ovation, for one had people go ashore in Port Klang. MSC Splendida, with friends onboard, began in Singapore. I can't fault Cunard's decision to be overly cautious and the fact that no virus cases occurred, is a good thing. But despite whatever financial hardship this has caused the company, the passengers (like myself) who made and cancelled several return trips home from different ports and lost the entire payment for a Singapore hotel remain distressed and hurt financially as well as missing ports that were one of the reasons for taking this cruise in the first place. Some compensation is deserved based on the fact that Cunard chose to forgo many ports and many others did not.

Never again! by bergielebovitch

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Seriously, after 10 plus cruises this was by far the WORST. The noise of the engines, the rocking of the ship, the narrowness of the hallways/passage ways shared with laundry carts, smelly dirty linens and garbage, vacuum cleaners and [edited/removed by Cruiseline.com due to community guidelines], left one clinging to the walls and late for a lecture 1/4 of mile from your stateroom. The layout of the theater was a joke-just about half of the seats were obstructed view status...Please, no more of this "higher quality BS about the QM2"

Understated Elegance by grich99

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We enjoyed sailing on the QM2 for the second time and we are looking forward to many more. She suited our needs very well, a quiet group of guests, well travelled, and well read. We met many interesting people, no one trying to impress the other - quiet elegance.

Great holiday by saucysue

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Caribbean

Embarked Queen Mary 2, with ease, on board quickly, suitcases already in the cabin. Cabin quite spacious, and although rather tired looking, clean. Welcomed aboard with a bottle of wine in the cabin, which was a nice touch. The ship is very stable despite Atlantic seas, really shows she is a liner, not a cruise ship. Enjoyable cruise, although some improvements could be made to the entertainment, and the MDR. I had been sold the 26 day trip, as one cruise, but in many ways it was run as 3 cruises, so the shows were repeated, which I felt was unfair. All in all, an enjoyable experience, I look forward to repeating.

True "North Atlantic Run" by Voorheesians

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Caribbean

Classic transatlantic voyage, with Force 12 winds and 35-foot seas handled by QM2 with easy aplomb. Even my 80's something in-laws had a great time without seasickness. She is a special ship - a true ocean liner. Even though I only wore a dark suit to the "gala nights", I didn't feel out of place, and overall there was an aura of tremendous luxury and elegance. Truly reminiscent of great times gone by, experienced today.

Great service by georgemjohnson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

Without doubt, the quality and service were the best we have received on board any ship. The only negative was on a 7 night cruise, 3 formal nights and 4 nights where a jacket had to be worn, my choice would be 3 formal and 4 nights with a shirt and tie.
