This was a perfect getaway and introduction to Cunard. It left us wanting more. We would still like to experience a transatlantic sailing on QM2.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
On the whole embarkation was organised and super easy... although not 5 star as we were put in a queue behind a large group who had issues so waited ages and 6 other boarding groups got through before us...
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
WOW! We ate in the main dining room, buffet and the Golden Lion Pub. The pub lunch was beautiful. All the food in the dining room was fantastic. They catered well for a non dairy diet and I ordered food for the 2nd night after eating on the first night.
There was limited choice in the buffet but I think I prefer quality over quantity.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Only giving 3 stars as there wasn't too much going on with it being such a short cruise. Although talking to other, more experienced Cunard cruisers they did assure us that the activities on longer cruises were much better.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We only went to one show Rhythm of the Night and it was extremely good.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
We had excellent service on board but we did feel that those on longer cruises were given a little bit of a better service level than us on just 2 nights.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was clean and although not the easiest to navigate your way around on it was great fun working it out.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Lovely cabin and the most comfortable bed I've ever had on a cruise. Ample space for 2. Would happily do a longer cruise in this cabin.
Lovely place to walk and explore. Easy transfer to station and 5 euro return on the train. Just watch out for return train times. I could imagine a taxi to the port being expensive! Lots of chocolate shops and great architecture. Even in the rain we had a fantastic time and would love to visit once the Christmas markets are open.
We are doing an Alaskan cruise in july on queen Elizabeth and cant wait. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about cunard but cant wait to experience it for myself
