Review of Cruise Beginning 5-17 and ending 6-2-164

Sail Date: May 17, 2016

Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Room Type: Oceanview

We enjoyed talking to Linda who encouraged us to participate in all the activities.  She is a great hostess for your programs and is most helpful.  The shows were great and the cast very friendly and up-beat.  The dining was excellent as was the staff.  The staff that took care of the rooms was very efficient and also very helpful.

We have been with Holland America before and have met Kevin on both cruises.  Obviously, your staff is encouraged to sell the excursions and tours,  However, we have always been able to, with the participation of the cruise line, use information and instruction to go ashore and enjoy the sites.  It is evident that Kevin did not actually go into the field and check out the instructions he was giving to the guests.  Some great attention should be given to this problem.  This was a great disappointment to us.

Having said this, we certainly would cruise with Holland American again.  And we would recommend it to friends.

Cabin / Stateroom
Excellent service, friendly and efficient
Service and Staff
Some people do not like to have staff touch them, pat them on the back, etc. Know your audience.
Food and Dining
Hamilton, Bermuda
Horta, Azores
Portland (Weymouth), England, Uk
We participated in a Rotary Festival while we were in Weymouth. However, we would not have had as good a time otherwise. Instructions were not good for finding the train to Courf. However, the bus service was excellent. We took the boat ride back and it was very interesting. This could be mentioned in the visiting Weymouth sessions.
Cherbourg, France
The instructions for getting off the bus and which stop were confusing. We opted to take the train to Bayeux. Great site.
Le Havre (Paris), France
We took the bus trip to Omaha Beach. It was a very pleasant day.
Zeebrugge (Bruges), Belgium
We visited Bruges, so much to see and do. A fun day.

The Prinsendam has been beautifully renovated. It is a small ship and you will get to know many of the guests by sight. Very comfortable and plenty to do. You will never be bored.
