Review summary

Awesome trip to see Hawaii, however, I don't ever want to cruise Norwegian Cruise Line again - the food was horrible!!!! There were 20 in our group and everyone felt the same way!

We arrived a day early and stayed at Waikiki Mariott. Took a tour on Saturday before boarding. We didn't get to the ship until about 4:00 and walked right on - no lines!!!

We have been on several cruises in the past - Carnival and Royal Caribbean - the food does not compare at all. We ate supper at the Cadillac the last night and that was the best meal we had the whole trip. Overall the food was terrible except for breakfast. Breakfast was great!!

Disembarkation

We had a tour this day to Pearl Harbor and USS Missouri. Met in the theatre and walked right off to get our luggage and to the tour bus.

Going on fifth POA in 3 months. Love it. USA staff has to be paid US wages and benefits so way more costly to run but we still have always enjoyed the scenery and shore fun. The food is good but not as great as other NCL cruises. Remeber that Hawaii is 2500 miles from the West coast mainland and almost all the food and beverages has to be imported so that is limiting and adds to cost. We understand and enjoy the view.

Me too...on the negative... we waited over an hour and had only bread and water...mom said our we in prison...then we had 3 different servers. I truly believe it's the USA ownership of that one ship.

Been on 3 other NCL ships and food was delicious. So what's different about POA? We're sailing on her next March, so hope food has improved by then!

I traveled POA years ago we had terrible service...heard that sadly the ship is registered to the USA so only USA people can work on this ship and again sadly they don't like to work ... NCL lost my luggage for 10 days (on the way home)..they tagged it with someone else's name and designation...I got a terrible runaround from NCL United actually gave vouchers to my whole party for the inconvenience....they didn't do anything wrong ...NCL on the other hand remained silent! I've kept my promise and been on a number of sailings but NOT on NCL.

The POA is the only negative review that I've ever put on my profile. Everything about it was simply awful. 😞

Kind of agree on the POA food... but we didn't think it was 'horrible'... we always found plenty to chow on.
