Review summary

I have been on many cruises and the Pride of America Hawaii cruise was a good idea in theory but ended up being quite disappointing.

The boat did not offer anything special, the food was fine (exactly the same menu as our Alaska sailing), it was a very small boat also which made it very turbulent on the water.

I also booked a 2 room suite. And even after talking with multiple agents and NCL directly all assured me it was 2 bedrooms.

This was a stressing point to me because I was traveling with an infant and we needed a separate room.

But come to find out it is a large room divided into 2 by a privacy curtain. Hardly the same thing and definitely not what I was assured.

Also there are no liquor packages sold on this cruise. We were told due to it still be in the US territory they were not allowed to offer those packages.

So overall, if you want to see Hawaii I would recommend seeing it the old fashion way: little island hops and resort stays. You will be more comfortable.

We were assured it would be a 2 room but it was only 1 large room divided by a curtain.

we have done the wine packages which have your selection delivered to any restaurant. and then the bucket of beer discount and various wine, mojito and margarita tastings. Smaller ship has smaller selections but still adequate.

We have done this cruise four times and love as the least cost and hassle to see the islands you only unpack once. No way you fly, eat and hotel so many locations cheaper than this. we are booked for this year again. Smaller ship than Alaska so we can get into ports and we are always the only ship in port. Alaska had four big liners at every port call. Food has improved a lot but not as good as bigger ships but the view is the best. as the only U.S. registered ship in world it costs more but it is worth the Hawaii experience. Take small van tours as you will learn more of what you see in Hawaii instead of using rental car and maps.

Did this cruise in December. Staff was great, however most stuff on the ship is shut down at 10 pm. Half the ship was Asian tourists that have NO manners. Break in line in front of you, take whole plates of food off the bar and have no respect for others.so glad it was only a week.

I disagree with your assessment. I have been on the pride twice and have nothing but good things to say. Maybe it was. It what you expected but it's a great way to get a good feel for the islands of Hawaii. Unless it was a speciality cruise they all have similar foods
