You will see a unique part of the world, but it's made extra special because of a truly memorable staff!

Explore all dining venues. Each one offers a different experience.

Wait until two hours to disembark. The dinning room its set up to welcome guest two hours after everyone had to disembark

Not much to do on shore in Huahine or Moorea so best to book a shore excursion. Tendered at all ports but only 5 minutes to shore. Easy to get off and on.

Do not book though Paul Gauguin Cruises

Don’t rush over at 3 pm. Let that mob get in and then arrive. And, do it!

Cannot recommend it. Its a great idea but the ship is too old, too small, and far too expensive. Even though a small ship, the only dock it uses in the Tahiti itinerary is at Papeete.. tenders are used at every stop thereafter. They only run each 30 minutes. Only once did we see passengers turned away because it was too full- but we spent an awfully lot of time of our vacation waiting around for or riding tenders. Not pleasant.

Get ready to see some beautiful places, and be sure to interact and get to know crew and fellow passengers. Also, this is FRENCH Polynesia, so expect many French citizens and speakers. Our cruise was about half American half French passengers. I loved practicing my French and people were patient and kind. If you want to go scuba diving in French Polynesia, do NOT hesitate to do this. Forget the famed "over water bungalows" and go on the Paul Gauguin instead.

Do it, don't put it off!

Be prepared for a wonderful experience.

Plan on the excursion being incorrectly booked, canceled/changed *while you are on the excursion* etc - have low expectations and then lower them. Especially for days your are overnight at a location and no issue getting back to the ship on time, I'd book an excursion or hotel day pass on your own..

Take the 7 day sail - 14 is filler and not worth the $$

Don't expect the Television to have a music channel (s) or a movie channel to keep you busy on the sea days.

Dont book a shore excursion for Taha'a and enjoy the entire day at the Motu Mahana. It was my favorite day on the cruise
raydmanuelaf
Too expensive for the old ship
Llsweet2
Don’t book it, even having insurance and getting Covid, they refuse to refund my money
