This was an incredible cruise. Everyone told me it was beautiful in Alaska, but I had to see it for myself to know how true that is. You definitely need to take advantage of the excursions so you can get on land and look around.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Everything went perfect. We took an Uber to the port, arrived at 11:00, and we were on the ship and exploring by 11:30.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food and service in the main dining room was the best.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We did the North Star that extended 300 ft into the air from Deck 16. It was a great vantage point at sunset. It moved so smoothly that you hardly knew you were moving.
Casino Royale
5 out of 5
This was the largest casino I’ve been in on a ship. There was plenty of room to walk around. It was never over-crowded. It was well-ventilated and wasn’t too smoky. Sometimes the machines would even let you win.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The Ovation of the Seas Orchestra was outstanding. The comedians and jugglers were excellent. The singer was very talented, and had been on America’s Got Talent. Spectra’s Cabaret was held in the Two70 room at the aft of the ship and was a multimedia extravaganza. Very talented singers and dancers.
Two70 Lounge
5 out of 5
This was an awesome multimedia lounge where they held numerous shows. The stages would go up and down, as needed for people to appear or disappear. The lights would flash and strobe. It had comfortable furniture with pillows. They held Spectra’s Caberet and the 70’s party in this lounge. It could hold a lot of people
North Star
5 out of 5
This was an incredible experience. I have never seen such a thing on a ship. It was up 300 ft above Deck 16 and provided a great vantage point. I was fortunate to ride in it at sunset. At the beginning of the week, you only had to make a free reservation. Later in the week they were charging for it. It is definitely worth paying for.
Children's Programs

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward, waiter, and assistant waiter were fast, friendly, and efficient, annd anll very good ant their jobs. Even the staff you didn’t know personally was very friendly and polite.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship had some things like the North Star and Two70 room that I hadn’t experienced on any other ship. Everything was clean and was being cleaned on a constant basis. It is interesting that there were no trash cans and the crew picked up after you.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The size was perfect for 2 people. There were plenty of drawers, shelves, and closet space. We never felt crowded.
Ship tip
I would say to explore the ship to discover all the neat places. And, take magnetic hooks to hang things on the walls.
We took a motorcoach to explore the gold digging historical locations, and we saw awesome views. This took us into Canada and back. Then we got off in downtown Skagway and checked out some shops before taking a shuttle back to the ship.
It went very smoothly and quickly. We took the airport transfer from the ship back to the airport. We used the luggage valet arrangement between the cruise ship and the airport, so we didn’t have to cart our luggage around all day. We got our luggage once the plane landed.
