Review summary

Good cruise. Disappointed because didn’t get to see the Glacier. RC’s cruise title for this cruise is deceiving.

Ship tip

Do not expect to see the Glaciers. A crew member told me that the ship is too big to turn around if it goes into the pass to see the Glacier

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

Captain said there was too much ice in the water to go to the Glacier so we turned around and started going back. I later found out from a crew member that the ship always turns around where we did because it is too big to go up to see the glacier because it is too big to turn around and come back out.

We didn't get to see it either last year on that cruise due to the severe fog and unable to navigate. Still enjoyable though

Sorry you did not get to see the glacier. Good insight.

I sailed on Qn. Elizabeth (not at full capacity.) this past June and we got fairly close to quite a few glaciers, Hubbard, Dawes, Marjorie. Equinox was the last time I was on a big ship at full capacity - never again. When I was on Bliss last January, it was for 2 weeks; it was only 1/3 full. I truly prefer smaller ships.

Glad you enjoyed your Alaskan cruise in spite of not getting closer to the glacier.

I actually got a picture of Dawes Glacier last week. Between the haze and the sun was in the wrong position, it was difficult to see clearly but it was there.
