Review summary

There were quite a few good things about this cruise loved the ports, I had never been to Alaska before, I probably wont go again as there isn't much to do, that I am interested in but it was still fun. We got to see whales and experience new culture and learn more about the Gold rush. If you are going for the cruise more then the ports, I would look into more options We had some fun on the ship but there was also a lot of negative that we encounter on the ship.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
For my family it went very smoothly, had no issues, probably one of the fastest times I've ever had. We had one of the earliest check in times. For our friends however, it was another story. Their reservation got lost in one of the databases. The crew kept aplogizing during the entire trip but nothing was done for them. Some of there reservations they made like for Ifly and the drink packages weren't loaded at first. They had to visit customer service almost every day.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Wonderland was a neat experience, probably wouldn't do it again, was slightly disappointed. But it is definitely one of those things you have to try once. The main dining room was lacking. I have been on multiple cruises and the food has just seemed to get worst as of lately. The windjammer was fine, long lines, and not enough tables but that is to be expected at this point so no complaints there just be prepared. The other specialty dinning we went to was Jamie's, food was mediocre, service was lacking, the waiter mostly only talked to the only grown male at the table and when a female tried to talk to him he would almost brush them off. It was also very slow, we were in a group of 7, and had a 5 o' clock reservation it took us close to 2-3 hours to get out of there, we watched multiple other tables arrive after us and leave before us.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Indoor pool/hot tubs were really nice, they were usually pretty crowded, we usually went later after dinner any it was a nice relaxing time. The solarium pool was also really nice not usually busy, though those hot tubs were. The outdoor pool was closed during the entire trip which is understandable with how cold it was. The outdoor hot tubs were open, I didn't care for it but others seemed to. We did the Ifly experience and had a blast, felt a little sore after but would do again if the opportunity arises.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The shows were ok, the 270 show was neat with all of the programming work that went into it, they could have been better, and are defiantly a one and done deal.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
This is the first cruise I have been on in a while that my room Stewart didn't know my name, I didn't really mind, but it was odd. Our rooms were well cleaned and we loved our towel animals when we got them. Same with the dining room waiters, I am used to them knoing our names and our drink orders by the end of the cruise but that didn't happen for us. They were nice, but often forgot something like a drink or extra sauce. One day we didn't get our bar orders until almost dessert after we had ordered them when we sat down. We loved the people at the Schooner bar, they were always super nice, and knew who we were by the end of day 2. Some of the ship personnel was lacking in manners and personality while other seemed to have plenty to share.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was well maintained and wasn't hard to get around, we had the ships layout memorized by the end of departure day.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our room was suppose to have split bed but didn't when we got there, it was quickly changed with no trouble at all they were really nice about it.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

3 out of 5
We spent a few days in Seattle before getting on the ship and it was nice we got to see a few things around the city like the space nettle and glass museum.

Appreciate your detailed review. Glad you enjoyed your Alaskan cruise. I too found it interesting, but once was good.
