Review summary

I will cruise with RC again, just not on Ovation of the Seas. When we voiced our concern to Guest Services regarding the shower drainage issue, Cinthia (Guest Services Manager) had to follow us to our cabin to confirm what we were saying. After confirming that what we said was true she proceeded to apologize but offer nothing more. She called back the following day to apologize some more and to offer us an excursion of our choice. At that point, the damage had been done. We were done. Poor customer service to say the least. I could go on but what’s the point.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Long walk from ride share to terminal, no clear signage on dropping luggage, no clear signage for Customers that paid for The Key. A large majority of the terminal employees didn’t seem to know what to do or how to direct passengers.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Jesus and Sanjaya in the My Time Dining Room turned out to be the bright spots in our dark days.

Onboard Activities

Service and Staff

Jesus/Sanjaya in Dining, Jose our Room Attendant and our Waiter Nendrah in the Mysic Hall all went above and beyond the call of duty to make our cruise great.

Cabin / Stateroom

Comfort, size, cleanliness and our Room Attendant Jose all deserved 5 stars. Our problem was the shower not draining properly which left the entire bathroom wet!

Ship tip

Make certain that there’s no Amway group of 800 Asians on your ship. They were rude, abrasive, and all over the ship and the ports taking pics and occupying everyone else’s space!

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

I used to love Seattle. Now the streets seemed to be filled with homeless people, addicts openly doing drugs on the sidewalks and mentally ill people walking around the downtown area ranting and raving. So many stores and restaurants in Downtown Seattle have been shuttered. And the stores that remain open are inadequately staffed, shelves are almost bare due to theft and no public restrooms for their paying customers.

Only 3 stars because we didn’t find out until the night before that we would only have access to the port by boat tenders. That was not enjoyable. It wasn’t expected and the consensus was that port should have been removed from the itinerary and replaced with another prior to sailing.

Long long lines…again not sure why we paid for The Key. Our short line simply led to several lines to get to our luggage and clear Customs.
