This was a good cruise. I would say the food quality since pre covid has definitely gone down. This ship is not great being that it is a newer and larger ship. It really isn't much better than older smaller ships. In fact it feels smaller.

Review summary

The ship itself was not nearly as great or big as I thought it would be. The quality of food was poor. the stateroom was smaller than pervious smaller older ships. overall it was fun but maybe don't spring for the newer ship as it costs more and is not worth it.

It was okay. the food quality has gone down.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
it was closed off and seemed really small. not many extra activities besides north star.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
it was smaller than previous smaller older ships

Ship tip

dont expect it to be that much better than just sailing on a smaller older ship.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

the pier is good but I do not recommend down town whatsoever

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
no excursion but looked at the salmon running. it was pretty there.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
my favorite port. went hiking. beautiful, quiet, saw a waterfall.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

5 out of 5
so pretty but I was surprised the whole boat did not seem to get a view. we were lucky and chose a spot that had the longest view for our balcony

Juneau, Alaska

4 out of 5
not my favorite. I expected more. It was rainy but really it was overpriced. Came close to seeing a bear. saw a pretty glacier. the people were rude there.

Victoria, British Columbia

4 out of 5
pretty but i was sad we only had 4 hours here. not really enough time to do much.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
it was fine and smooth. it was nice to carry off my own luggage

It’s definitely each persons perspective. In my experience the ship is massive, the spaces are great, the activities are too many to count and I loved the food! Especially Jamie’s and Izumi. The glacier views as the ship spins 360° multiple times. Alaska is rainy… it just is, so you have to plan for that for sure. Sorry this trip didn’t live up to your smaller and older ship experiences. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I was on this ship last year and I thought it was quite large and had a great time, so I guess its all perspective.
