Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Had seen reviews on here of people complaining about the food being wretched or disappointing in every way. We had no problem with the food whatsoever. The presentation and quality was always amazing. Everything was cooked properly every time and tasted great. Experienced no issues with understaffing either. We did the 3 night specialty dining package and chose to do Chops, Wonderland, and Izumi. Each were absolutely amazing in every way. We also did Jamie’s Italian for lunch during embarkation day and it was worth the cost. The best Alfredo I’ve had in my life.

Windjammer Marketplace

4 out of 5

For buffet food I was honestly surprised at the quality of the lunch and breakfast selection. It was honestly really good and had a great selection.

Wonderland

5 out of 5

We did the 3 night specialty dining package. Wonderland is absolutely worth it. It’s an entire experience. From things tasting different than what you expect them to be or being presented in an entirely new manner. It’s worth the time

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Everything about this ship was amazing. From the venues to the activities. The Quantum class ships genuinely have something for every type of person

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Best entertainment I’ve witnessed on a cruise ship. The bands Royal booked for this ship were amazing and so engaging. The venues on this ship are also very aesthetic and have great sound quality. We spent a lot of time in the Music Hall and Two70. Both venues are amazingly arranged and provide a lot of seating and dance space.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff were amazing and incredibly friendly. No sense of there being any issue with staffing levels.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was really clean and well maintained. The ship also was well laid out and easy to navigate. Plenty of elevators left you not waiting long for one to arrive. There are also touchscreen wayfinders everywhere on the ship to help you find things. For those that have disabilities the ship is also very ADA friendly. Probably the most ADA friendly of any cruise ship I’ve been on.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
For this sailing we chose an interior cabin with the virtual balcony. First off this is the most spacious interior cabin I’ve had on any cruise I’ve done. A lot of available storage in the room. The bathroom is a good size and the glass door is amazing compared to a curtain that some lines use. In addition, the virtual balcony is an awesome feature. Allows you to know what’s going on outside while providing a sense of “natural light” while also making the room feel even larger than it actually is.

Ship tip

It’s a big ship. A very big ship. However, there are plenty of elevators and the ship is very easy to navigate.

Ports of call

Juneau, Alaska

We did the Mount Roberts tramway to the top of the mountain and then hiked the rest of the mountain. If you plan on hiking please understand that depending on the time of the year it is very muddy, wet, and cold. Do not attempt if you are I’ll prepared or have mobility issues because you could easily fall and be injured. However, with that being said, the views from the top of the mountain are absolutely gorgeous and will take your breath away. After we got back down to the town from the mountain we went to Tracy’s King Crab shake which, even though a little expensive, was absolutely amazing. Then continued to explore the town before heading back to the ship.

Seattle, Washington

Arrived a day prior to sailing to make a day of the city and it was worth it. If you want to avoid paying a lot for rideshare like Uber or Lyft, the city has a really good transit system that is very affordable and easy to navigate.

Skagway, Alaska

We did the White Pass Scenic railway. It’s beautiful, but understand that it’s about a 3 hour round trip and you are on the train the entire time. However there are are restrooms on each car and they do have ADA accessible cars with wheelchair lifts on them. The town also has a bus service so you can get back to the port without have to walk. Beautiful scenery and amazingly clean air.

Victoria, British Columbia

This port is only part of the itinerary so that the cruise line may satisfy the Jones Act by visiting at least one foreign port prior to returning to the home port. There’s not a lot to do here and you’re a bit limited on time. We got off just to say we’re in Canada and then stepped back on ship

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
We didn’t do any excursions here; however, we did walk around the town and eat, and take a lot of photos. There’s not a lot to do in this port but it’s worth getting off the ship.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

5 out of 5
Absolutely breathtaking. Make sure you get up around 5am to see EVERYTHING it has to offer. We didn’t get to go but about 85% of the way in because there was large ice chunks that had broken off. Was still able to see glacier and seals. It was amazing. Understand that the solarium and other open deck areas will get really crowded for this but you won’t have difficulty taking great photos.

Disembarkation

Did the airport transfer so I had a little later disembarkation time but it was seem less once time rolled around.
