Ovation of the Seas

7 Night Alaska Glacier (Seattle Roundtrip)

Sail date: July 05, 2019

Ship: Ovation of the Seas

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

It was a very lovely ship with anything you could ever want, maybe too much for us older adults. It was entirely too hard for us. We probably waited too long to go, but we had never had the money or time when we were younger. We were celebrating our 60th Anniversary which occurred earlier this year. Try to do these kinks of events when you are very fit.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Crazy, we didn’t understand the process, and it was very tiring and confusing.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Excellent, Fabulous, and any other adjective you can think off.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We didn’t do any other activities, because after excursions we were just to tired and sore.

Entertainment

We did our excursions during the day and did not have the strength to stay up late for shows. We would have love to see a few.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They were all wonderful, very friendly, and went out of there way. We only ate our meals, at the Grand, on 3, rd floor at table 410. We enjoyed it tremendously!!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was clean and very beautiful. I truly can’t say I saw the whole ship. We are older and had trouble with walking, standing in lines therefore we can not judge the whole ship. It is a gorgeous ship, with a lot to give....

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Everything was great, and she went out of her way to help with anything we needed. Very friendly, efficient, and smart. She took care of our laundry, gave us any information we needed.

Ship tip

Be ready to stay very busy and have a great pair of shoes for walking!! Once you are there it is great

Skagway, Alaska

A very cute little town, we didn’t get to ride the rain, but our bus driver took over and took us everywhere she could. She was great. She also helped us that had trouble with all the walking and took us back to the boat.

Victoria, British Columbia

We toured the town on a bus, and it was very enjoyable, the young student gave us much information regarding the town, and kept us all entertained. We stopped at a Donut Shop for donuts and drinks. Very good. It was a very enjoyable trip.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It was much smoother than the entry. We found a good porter that helped us find our luggage and to find a cab for Hotel in Settatle.

If it makes you feel any better, I’m not that old (yet) and I find embarkation tiring also! I’m glad you enjoyed your cruise. You might enjoy a smaller ship next time. Lots of people prefer the smaller ships. Try Princess cruises. Happy cruising!
