Review summary

As this was a themed cruise with very talented entertainers from Ireland, this would not be the usual Holland America Mexican Riviera cruise. The crew all worked very hard keeping us all fed and watered.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
There was a queue but it was constantly on the move. Great music and glass of fizz to entertain you while moving all the queue.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All the dining room and bar staff were first class looking after our every need. They work so hard.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The spa was very clean and great to have some peace and relaxation.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
As this was a All Irish Star themed cruise the entertainment was second to none, from mid morning to late at night someone to listen/dance to.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The waiters gave us a first class service. Our room stewards kept forgetting what dinner sitting we were on so disturbed us a couple of times but they did kept our stateroom very clean.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
All common areas were kept very clean at all time.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was a very good size, bed was lovely and comfy and the cabin was very quiet could not hear our neighbours.

Ports of call

San Diego, California

5 out of 5
Beautiful port well worth arriving a day early so you can see some of the sights. Balboa Park was beautiful and USS Midway very interesting.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

4 out of 5
Did the Land and Sea tour very interesting. The glass Factory was very interesting. Seen some beautiful views. This is a tender port but worked very well.

Mazatlan, Mexico

3 out of 5
This was our least favourite port. May be due to the carnival being on and roads were closed our bus tour took us into very run down Mazatlan. Saw the cliff divers that were good, cathedral was beautiful and the Mexican dance show was very interesting with beautiful costumes.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
This was our favourite port, climbed to the view point and the view was amazing well worth the climb. Lovely malecon with plenty happening. Felt very save here and would go back for a longer visit.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Was very smooth and no queues.
