This is only my 2nd cruise with the first only for 4 days and more than 15 years ago. I found the experience great and would definitely do it more often. It is a great way to travel for a solo traveller. Only one issue that I think could have been better is activities and entertainment. I may try another cruise line for my next one.

Food in main dining room was wonderful, a lot of options, and changed menu daily. Mexican lunch near the lido pool was great even though it was the same every day. I had 1 dinner at the Pinnacle gril. I did not enjoy the main course as much, but that's just me. It is a nice high end restaurant with personal service.
Onboard Activities

Overall not enough activities and not at the quality I would have liked to see.
Billboard music - great idea with good potential. Quality of the specific performers we had was not as good.
B.B. King club - this is the performance I liked the most. Only issue was a lot of repeating of the same songs every day.
Main stage shows - just OK
EXC talks - great. Very informative and I enjoyed it.
Lincoln Center stage - awesome.

Very clean. Was serviced pretty much immediately after I put the sign on.
Ship tip
Plan your day with the when and where published each night for the following day. Also I found the Navigator on line to be a great tool. Use over the browser though. The app is not good and disconnecting all the time.
Excursion booked NOT through the ship was not that great. I didn't find the city walk to be too enjoyable. Stone island was great and lunch there on the beach was surprisingly good.
Glad you enjoyed, we are going on the Oosterdam for the 2nd time end of February. If you are looking for nightlife and entertainment Holland America isn’t the cruise line for you. They kind of cater to 60+ I would say.
