Very well organized, and simple.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was excellent, Ice Cream outstanding.Cheese cake horrible. cookies good. meats were good most of the time but sometimes over cooked.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Free movies inside the sate room was a unique and very welcome amenity . Working out in the gym was fine. Nothing else to do but spend time alone and not be to social is just what we wanted and will want in another cruise as well.

Entertainment

Were not interested in Broadway Shows, comedy nonsense. Were Christians.

Children's Programs

No children with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Very very good staff with great personalities and lots of zeal in their jobs .

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean and well maintained. But THE HORRIBLE PAINT SMELL RUINED OUR VACATION MOSTLY. When we went out on the balcony to rest , relax , 75% of the time we had to go right back inside because of the PAINT SMELL from the maintenance crew painting all the time and the horrible toxic paint smell was everywhere on the ships lower decks. On the 1st and second floor near the stair well, and near the Ocean Bar it was HORRIBLE . I complained about this 4 times, spoke to a Annelette a few times. She said she would make a report. I complained about this the first day of the cruise at the 1st floor desk and they did nothing about it. Ofcouse, since the ship needs to be constantly painted to keep the rust and surfaces maintained. But I SUGGESTED THAT THEY CALL CORPORATE AND USE NON TOXIC NO SMELL PAINTS WHICH ARE CERTAINLY AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET . I HAVE USED THEM SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY ARE ALMOST ODORLESS. I asked several other cruises if they smelt the paint and they also agreed it was rally bad but they obviously did not have the courage or interest to make things better by complaining about it as I did. So this in itself made me nauseous severeal times, and ruined the purpose of why I booked a balcony state room to enjoy the outside fresh air , and clean air in the ships area and around the pool and Jacuzzi area. Very bad and I felt cheated.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The pillows are too soft and flatten out with no volume maintained in them, Celebrity Cruises pillows in their Balconies were so much better and than yours. The room was a bit tight and not really 190 square feet as advertised. We had the same sized room on Celebrity Cruises in May and it was 30% larger also boasting a minimum 190 sq feet .

Ship tip

If your staying on a lower deck 1,2,3,4,5, Beware of the HORRIBLE PAINT SMELLS .Also when you go to the lower decks for activities you will smell it. The pool area and inside the gym had a smell of paint a few times as well.

Ports of call

San Diego, California Did not visit port

Flu in on a airline and took a taxi directly to the ship

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

3 out of 5
had no real need to go anywhere since we have done this same cruise 4 other times on other cruise lines.

Mazatlan, Mexico

3 out of 5
had no real need to go anywhere since we have done this same cruise 4 other times on other cruise lines.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

4 out of 5
From the ships view anchored at sea the view was nice, however, had no real need to go anywhere since we have done this same cruise 4 other times on other cruise lines.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth and well organized .We got off immediately in time for our flight and the taxi service was right their outside of customs.

Sorry you didn’t enjoy it because of the paint smell. I’m not sure what type of paint they use on a cruise ship, but there may not be a low or non VOC option. Also, the cost of low and non VOC paint is as much as 2 or more times as expensive as standard paint. That could be a substantial cost to the cruise line when repainting an entire cruise ship. The cruise lines can’t win with maintaining the ships - if they don’t keep up the maintenance, people are complaining that it looks run down and there is rust. If they do keep up with the maintenance, people complained that they were doing maintenance on their cruise. I guess everyone wants them to do maintenance other than the time they happen to be cruising.
