Fabulous First Time

Sail Date: May 03, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

Big enough to keep finding new places, but not so big that you couldn't develop some degree of familiarity.
Loved the hot ceramic loungers and hydrotherapy pool.
Great layout of Lido deck - views from pretty much every table.

Pros: Staff - great, friendly, excellent service

Cons: No hairdryer in the state room

Recommends Oosterdam? Yes!

The magician was excellent. The marriage game was hilarious. The musicals were pretty good although the first one didn't seem "production-ready".
Ship Quality
Food and Dining
We had set dining time - early seating - in main restaurant. Excellent food and service. Occasionally felt a little rushed though - probably because we had to be cleared out for the second seating.
Cabin / Stateroom
Bigger than I expected, especially the bathroom
Service and Staff
Juneau, Alaska
No "real people" shops - I was looking for real warm clothes, not touristy t-shirts or sweatshirts. The tram was great. We did a four glacier helicopter tour - very good.
Ketchikan, Alaska
Great shops, historic sites. Creek Street was very cool. Not enough time here.
Don't Miss: Zip lining!
Sitka, Alaska
Great reindeer hotdogs!
Victoria, British Columbia
Love this city. Did the horse and carriage. Didn't have a chance to eat.
