Fabulous Ship by 352Cruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

A fabulous, modern ship that will WOW! even the most seasoned cruiser. An excellent choice for a multi-generational family with varying interests. All ship spaces were comfortable and well designed. Cabins were roomy and comfortable. The artwork throughout the ship made me smile. Using the Royal app for everything worked seamlessly from the minute we stepped on board. No more useless paper to simply throw out.

Awesome Ship by 1achalmers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This ship is AWESOME, the staff is so nice, the food was delicious, and the DJ and entertainment was top notch. I had a balcony room and it was very nice and clean the bed and pillows were so soft and comfortable. The movie selection from the room was also a nice well rounded option of new movies as well as a few classics.

Royal Caribbean's people MADE our trip AMAZING! We WOULDN'T have made it without them! by Mandatee2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Last week I went on the inaugural sailing of Royal Caribbean's Odyssey of the Seas and it was an AMAZING experience not just for the beauty of the things on the ship but, the AMAZING people that make it a true experience. I am disabled and we have issues pre-booking a room that would fit my mom's scooter and my push walker, so when we were struggling getting in our room Asep and Joanne Cotterman went SO far above and beyond in getting us a new room that was full accessible which enhanced our enjoyment of the room and the balcony as a whole. Not only that Joanne was checking in through the whole trip with us even when we were at Coco Cay we ran into her and she was just amazing and worked towards making our trip outstanding. Mohammad at Guest Services was able to get us the room we needed and it wasn't easy, but, he made it happen and even assisted in getting us wheelchair assist to disembark setup with a smile at every turn. While in Perfect Day at Coco Cay we had another guardian angel Assata (hope I am spelling this right) She was so helpful in letting us know what to do and how to enjoy our day and even got us a bottle of water and found us a comfortable place to sit and plan out our day! So, much love for Royal Caribbean's people and service. We had another recurring person who was always working on making sure that we always had what we need Regan and he was in the El Loco Taco poolside, and waited on us in a few places and came to say his good byes to us when we were in the casino! One of my favorite places to go was the Cafe Promenade and Margarita was our savor constantly with fresh coffee anytime we saw her and she would go out of her way to help us carry out our drinks and treats to a table and she was the smiling face that was just ALWAYS there for us! So many great people, casino wait staff and service people were amazing and looked over me to be sure that I was safe in getting around and that I was well attended to for drinks! I work at World Travel Holding Inc, and this was my FIRST time going on Royal Caribbean before and I promise to make future trips with them just because they are amazing at taking care of you and making your trip NEXT LEVEL! LOVED Perfect Day at Coco Cay, the saltwater lagoon was perfect for us as we are both disabled it was the safest place for us to swim, but, as a critique I would love to see one area on the beach that is lined with planks or a handrail that takes you to the edge, the sand combined with the somewhat steep entrance and exit would be enhanced for everyone but, especially for those of us who aren't really surefooted, but, we did have fun and made it work. Coming out I had a small issue, it started raining, not shocked it is tropical, but, the accessible tram arrived fairly quickly and everyone was so focused on me being safe entering it and then as we went forward unfortunately the vehicle broke, most likely due the weather I imagine, but, it wouldn't move forward, things happen, but, then we backed up to the tram stop again and had to be offloaded, by this time it is REALLY storming and the covered area really doesn't protect you from rain more sun, but, overall the process of getting back off and waiting for another tram was about an hour ordeal and it happens, but, Akeem who was loading guests at the stop, saw how cold I was getting as I was drenched and he offered me his yellow slicker, I told him I couldn't get any more wet, but, I truly appreciated that he would offer that to me knowing how much longer he had to be out there. So, Nice! The staff that does the transport on and off ship for wheelchair assist were so amazing as well, while I didn't get their names for on or off ship sadly, but, they are ALL AMAZING and I hope that Royal Appreciates them! I will say that this isn't on Royal Caribbean, but, they should know about this the taxi handlers, said well we don't' have any accessible taxis and didn't make any effort to see if they could call any for us, we parked at Terminal 19 parking garage and were so confused as I don't remember being told WHERE to park, but, when we arrived we were trying to walk to Terminal 18, but, had no idea how far away that was, we had people stop and offer to find someone to help and then someone that worked at the port, beautiful soul whose name I didn't get she worked at the port for sure, but, she loaded me in her vehicle and took me to the terminal and came back to show my mom where to drive to on her scooter till she knew we were safely where we need to be to check in. Thanks good! But, even on the way out the Port officer was so kind and said I can make sure to get you a taxi that can take you today to the terminal 19 lot when we left and that was so helpful, he took us to the elevators as his taxi wouldn't fit higher, but, he was amazing, so we tipped him Big! In closing, so many names I have missed for sure, but, EVERYONE was amazing and I love Royal Caribbean for how much effort they put into making us comfortable and making our experience not only fun but, easy for us all! If this is a reflection of how all their staff are then we will be back! Asep was the most caring room attendent we ever experienced and it was sad to change rooms because we never even met the new room attendent but, our room was cleaned and cared for when we were out. But, our balcony was BEAUTIFUL and I am smitten with balconies now I have never had one before! I will be doing a video for my Local LOVE YouTube Channel as well and I can't wait to share it. If there could be 10 stars they would have gotten that from me and my MOM, thanks so much!

2 Night Inaugural Cruise by sellis916

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I enjoyed a 2-night inaugural sailing on the Odyssey of the Seas. This was mainly travel partners and their +1; my plus one was my husband. Having the whole ship to ourselves was quite nice. I had only ever sailed with Disney before, so my expectations were high, and this met and exceeded many of them! The staff was awesome and so ready to assist with anything. They all were very friendly and said hello as you passed. The room was very nice, an aft facing balcony, so we were able to watch the ports disappear behind us all while having a slight breeze and peacefulness. My only complaint about the room would be the amount of room between the foot of the bed and the wall, but otherwise very spacious. We ate in the main dining hall both nights and there was plenty to choose from. Our wait staff both nights was impeccable and very much catered to our needs. The quality of food was okay, not bad, not great. On prior sailings the food was that of a nice restaurant, and here it was more of a buffet line quality. I will say I do feel the pandemic may have caused part of this issue with supply/ demand issues. We were able to sample some of the offers of the specialty ($) dining and they were all tasty. We stopped into all of the open bars/ restaurant to get a quick glimpse or experience. By far the Bionic Bar was the coolest thing we've seen in a long time! We stopped there more than one. (LOL) The private island, Coco Cay, was clean and not very populated although there was a standard sailing (Symphony of the Seas) with its guests there as well. The food fell in line with our experience on the ship and there were loads of options to choose from. We signed up for a shore excursion (swimming with the pigs) but sadly the weather did not cooperate and it was canceled. They fully refunded us without issue. Since we were unable to do the shorex, we chose to do a couple's massage on board. This was AMAZING. The ladies were petite but oh- so- mighty! My husband nodded off during those 50 minutes. Embarkation wasn't bad at all as long as you have all of your documents ready. They requested passports/ vaccine cards/ negative test as well as scanned your boarding pass. We showed our information 3 times from start to finish for embarkation. Debarkation was unremarkable, we walked off the ship after scanning our boarding pass, had our picture taken at customs, and left. We did have transfers from the airport (FLL) to the port and vice versa. They were easy to find and timely.Overall we had a great experience and it renewed our itch to cruise!

Wonderful new ship! by katsmith

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

In short, I think the design of the ship is efficient and enjoyable. It is not hard to find your way around and it is easy to get where you want to go! It is modern without being obtuse. My favorite part of the ship is the poolside area. It is comfortable, colorful and very Caribbean! It makes you want to party. And do not miss Perfect Day at Coco Cay-a unique experience and well designed even for all ages. Everyone will find something to do!

Interesting ship not so intersesting food by zazz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was cool, the food was not up to my standards. The covid rules were overkill. El Loco fresh was loco bad, I don't understand the good reviews. Windjammer closed at 3Pm everyday and the food was bad to just OK. The meats were dry both chicken pork dishes and I didn't like the daily variety which didn't change much. Play makers is a great concept, they had a big bacon double cheeseburger, not bad but not as good as it could be, patty not seasoned well, didn't look like it was grilled, wings were weird, nothing special.Beer choices good though to watch football.

RCI Odyssey cabin 13692 by kristinagarl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas

Overall I'd say we had a great cruise experience considering my dh is tired of me forcing him to go on them verses a land vacation. The Odyssey is a beatiful ship, large, very clean, use friendly, great staff, and for the most part, entertaining enough. If you're in the mood to party alot, we didn't see much of that, but maybe when they start sailing fuller it could change? If you're a maximum thrill seeker, you might be entertained for a few days but not more than a week. I like to stay busy, my dh prefers to relax. This was a decent way to do both and keep us both happy. Right now if you can go on a cruise is the best time I think because it's not crowded anywhere, seriously. The MDR food is perfectly satisfactory and the staff went all out to ensure everyone was happy.

Greatest cruise ever by jmanfromkc75

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas

This was my 17th cruise, but first by myself, and I had the greatest time, met so many great people, made new friends, experienced almost all the ship had to offer. The crew and cruise directors staff were top notch, even met the person staying in the Royal Loft Suite, and got to see it, what an amazing room.
