Wonderful by Divegal8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

First cruise since COVID. The safety protocols were excellent and felt very safe. Crew really went out of their way to provide excellent service. Our Waiter, Natalia was superb and due to limited capacity, really was able to provide extra special service. The entire staff was excellent from Restaurant, Event, to housekeeping. No complaints here. Feel selfish to say that I wish that this limited capacity would continue. Never experienced this level of service. Thank You!

Best Cruise Ever after 16 RCC by bornonthebayou5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

920 passengers with a double capacity of 4800 and full capacity of 5000+ resulted in no crowds, special attention from crew and very unusual but great experience.

Average Cruise with Underwhelming Food by mckor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I was disappointed by the cruise as a whole compared to my previous experiences. So much so I am going to consider trying a different cruise line or perhaps stop cruising completely.

Got Covid on Odyssey of Sea's New Years Cruise 12/30/22-1/8/23 by melho84

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Caught Covid on Odyssey of the Seas New Year's 2022 Cruise 12/20/22 to 1/8/23 My husband and I got Covid for the first time ever after getting off of the Odyssey of the Seas 9 day New Year's Cruise on 1/88/23.Husband took sick later that day and I got sick two days later. Overall we took many precautions. We wore a mask everywhere on the ship. We also bought the Ultimate Dining Package ( $630 for nine dinners and five lunches), to keep us out of the Main Dining Rooms and Windjammer. We took breakfast in the smaller Solarium restaurant or the Cafe Promenade, later in the morning. While we did see the shows in the Royal Theater, we sat way in the back in the handicapped section, so that we were not in rows of seats with people all around us. Despite all the precautions we got Covid, full force. Had to go on Paxlovid, which was very helpful in managing this debilitating illness. The one thing I am reminded of on this cruise which we watched on the cabin TV and did not attend is the "Belly Flop" contest at the pool earlier on in the cruise where many hundreds of people were crammed next to each other viewing the competition. Talk about a "petrie dish for spreading germs". Even though we kept to ourselves, did not get off at any of the ports, and were super cautious, we managed to enjoy this cruise. This ship is certainly not as nice as the Oasis series or the Celebrity Apex or Beyond. Shows were very good and entertainment enough for the 9 days at sea. New rules! You only have to book "The Book" ahead of time and now can walk into any of the other shows, with no reservations. We had very good food at Giovanni's ( better than Jaimies on the Oasis ships) with terrific made to order pizza) and Chops was superb. Had their rack-of-lamb ... highly recommend. Start with the Colossal shrimp cocktail! Ate at Teppanaki and Izumi for both lunch and dinner. Again the idea was to stay away from the 4790 guests that were aboard. Tried El Loco fresh on a port day when we did not get off at the port and it was very basic ( premade dishes) with salsa bar. Easiest embark and disembark ever. Both RCCL and Celebrity have this down to a science. Passengers were grumbling at how the Royal App was not working. Be Aware! There are no computers for use on this ship. ( like the iLounge on Celebrity ships or in the library on RCCL ships). NADA! even though third party reviews say there are 6 computers in the library/board room. Even the Diamond Lounge does not have a computer to print off boarding passes. The Concierge in the Diamond lounge helped us make contact with family in the US to let them know we would not be communicating at all with them during the 9 days aboard. She was even surprised that there were no computers for use by Diamond passengers in the Diamond lounge while on the ship. This was the first time in 55 cruises that there were no computers for use by passengers who did not bring their laptop or tablet!. Service was excellent everywhere. M

Wonderful Christmas Cruise by WesBrook

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas

The Odyssey did not disappoint. The decorations and the Christmas events (tree lighting and Santa) were wonderful. They could cut down on the caroling a bit as there were too many songs, but it was still enjoyable. I would definitely go back on this ship.

The trip of a lifetime by pchukwujekwu

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall experience was amazing. The crew were very efficient and well trained. The meals were very well thought-out and very much available. My wife and I loved every single day we spent on the ship. The ports of call were very nice and provided us much needed opportunity to shop and experience the culture.

Trip better than expected by wazman08

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We definitely will continue to cruise with Royal Caribbean. The overall service has always been better than average. This trip was enjoyable even though there were over 4200 passengers on it. It didn't seem crowded at all, even on a Sea Day.

Nice ship, mediocre experience by nursecolby

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas

The ship is newer and pretty nice; though the layout is confusing. The entertainment for a 6 day cruise was lacking, leaving us board many times. Rules were not enforced as much as they should be and staff was pushy. Overall, I’d give this cruise a 2.5/5 stars. If I had to pay for this again I would not go.

Wonderful Cruise by XxLadyRara23xX

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas

Tons of things to do, first day iFly is free but need to book once on board. North Star you also need to book once onboard. Payment for $19 after the first day. Bumper cars are free, book your shows once on board. Food in main dining room was hit or miss, but staff and service was great. We had my time dining and you had to either reserve each night in advance or reserve once there. Had food in the windjammer once for lunch and that too was a hit or miss, even just glancing around to see what they served each day. Sorrentos was decent, tasted way better on Harmony. The islands were all wonderful. In Haiti in particular, heard from numerous people that booked excursions (parasailing and jet skiing) those were cancelled. Parasailing the boat engine stopped working and for jet skiing waves were too high so they cancelled that as well. People did get their money refunded back to them for those. The shows each day were great especially the effectors light show. My cabin steward Darma was amazing, he went above and beyond to keep our room nice and clean and brought us things when needed.
