Review summary

Not my cup of tea this time, hopefully my next cruise is more of an experience than a transaction.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
It was quick and a big thank you to the staff at the port terminal, the RC app made the process seamless

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
This is my 4th cruise with RC and my second with the kids ages 9 and 14, chops remains the best dining experience, and a big shout to chef Shaman for Caribbean night at Windjammer, the food was AMAZING!!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
My spouse and teenager enjoyed the ifly experience, flow rider was closed due to weather on my reserved day and so my 9 year missed out on that..they both enjoyed their activity sections on the ship and bumper cars was cool for them too.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Did not go to any shows, however dj on Wednesday night had some good Caribbean vibes..trinergy group were okay, would suggest that they mix it up and not play/sing the SAME songs every day! The silk groove lead singer was good, enjoyed her blues..jazz night, and one more thing, the cruise director was never around, we had 4 sea days and he showed up on one day which was the canceled Costa Maya during the belly flop contest...Mitch should have showed up more!!!

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
My 9 year loved it.special kudos to Dora, thank you so much for taking of him, thank you thank you!!

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
I should not have had any expectations what with this cruise being post covid, however, sue me..I did! and I was disappointed, it felt transactional with staff especially in the main dining room and so I went there twice, the food was lackluster, my room attendant Dahling was great, room was kept very clean, Graceous at Windjammer made me smile everyday with her dance moves, hence one of the reasons I showed up and Chef Shaman's food on Caribbean night was amazing, only night I actually ENJOYED my food! A big thank you to Ravi at Chops as well, feels like you have to pay for exceptional food and service

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Staff were everywhere wiping down, pressure cleaning the pool, sanitizing the stairways, the adventure clubs were closed daily for sanitization purposes, RC did take covid protocols seriously, glad about that...

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Space was good, loads of storage space, the bathroom was fine and we enjoyed the balcony very much

Ship tip

Cruising has changed in my opinion due to Covid, hence have no expectations and if you were an avid cruiser prior, the standard of RC or rather what I have always encountered was not, if this was my first experience with RC, it would have been my last, it was not memorable, however this is my 4th cruise with RC; I will try another ship with them as this is my first with this lackluster service, thus will not write RC off yet.

Ports of call

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
Canceled due to the weather, thus a sea day

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
Cenote experience was fine, the wait to get back to the ship was a 3 hr wait, that needs to change, the shopping area was very americanized, Old Navy, Häagen-Dazs had two scoops for $15 etc..I can shop these stores in the USA.

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

4 out of 5
It rained on and off, the layout and idea of Coco Cay is beautiful, if the weather was better, I feel we would have had a nicer day.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Getting on and getting off was fine, like the new way of embarking and disembarking..
