Review summary

This was my second cruise and was also the cruise that decided whether I really enjoyed cruising or not. There were a lot of medical emergencies (one so bad that the ship had to be turned around to drop one passenger off in JA) and even a man overboard (who was rescued) on this sailing, the seas were rocky, the weather was stormy, but I still managed to have a great time soaking in the hot tub almost every morning, enjoying the many meals, and getting to know other passengers and crew. We booked two more cruises while on board. Cruising is really what you make of it. And I will definitely be seeing Oasis of the Seas again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was alright this time around. We ate almost everywhere. We avoided the Windjammer for the most part (only going once around dinner time to nibble). Had most of our breakfasts in the Main Dining Room (totally worth it). The best restaurant on board for dinner and lunch was probably Giovanni's Table. 150 Central Park was a close second for best dinner. I also enjoyed the sushi that I had at Izumi. The best way I can describe the food for this cruise was inconsistent. It would be good at times and not so good the next. But the servers were amazing at ensuring we were satisfied and kept the desserts flowing.

150 Central Park

5 out of 5

The service was amazing! Good food! And the best dessert. (Fried cheesecake)

Chop's Grille

4 out of 5

Service was great! Good was alright. Sides were sort of disappointing. The fries were really the best side.

Johnny Rockets

5 out of 5

Best burgers on board! Food was always fresh and delicious. Service was also phenomenal!

Portside BBQ

3 out of 5

It was okay. Definitely not worth being charged extra for. Especially if you can get the exact same food in the Windjammer or other free venues.

Playmakers℠ Sports Bar & Arcade

5 out of 5

Service was soo good! The food was delicious as well. There's such a fun atmosphere there as well.

Sorrento's Pizza

4 out of 5

Not as good as when we were on Allure of the seas. But still good.

Giovanni's Table

5 out of 5

Best sirloin steak ever! Service phenomenal! Delicious desserts. Loved the chocolate hazelnut cake.

Izumi Hibachi & Sushi

5 out of 5

Service was amazing. The sushi is probably the best food you can have here (The Philly roll was great). The dessert choices were a bit underwhelming, but the chocolate lava cake was really good when it was warm.We also did hibachi and that was fun. The food was okay as well.

Main Dining Room

Only went for breakfast, but it was very good!

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We sort of avoided most entertainment. The Cats musical was not our style, so we didn't go. Since the weather was not great and we knew that the aqua show was going to be limited so we did not see it. We also saw One Sky and it wasn't bad. All of the entertainers are extremely talented and I pay them so much respect for their abilities.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was amazing! They really were the best part of the ship. They were kind and willing to help make our cruise special.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
There was a lot if wear and tear on this ship, specifically in the cabin areas. But it never felt dirty.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The room was definitely dated, but overall it was a clean room. I never felt disgusted to be in there. In the bathroom, there was some mold in the shower area and the shower floor tiles were lifting a little. It was a good size for us and the bed was super comfortable!

Ship tip

I would say to walk along the walking track, there are sights to see! Also, waking up early will always maximize your time.

Ports of call

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
I think that Coco Cay is okay. The food was decent and the drinks were strong, but there just wasn't much to do in Coco Cay that couldn't be done on the boat or in other ports.

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
The boarding experience was great, overall.

Falmouth, Jamaica

5 out of 5
The port was nice. The Jamaican beef patty I had there was delicious. I will consider an excursion the next time I go.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
Did the rollercoaster excursion and it was fun.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
The port looked really nice.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
This portion was almost a disaster because we were late returning to the port, but the disembarkation process went so smoothly, I was amazed.
