Review summary

We had a great cruise The only drawback was the number of out of control young teens. I don't mind kids on a cruise, but some of these kids really needed to be reined in.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was really easy. Staff at Cape Liberty was extremely helpful. We were aboard in less than a half hour.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room food wasn't as good as it used to be, but the meals in the specialty restaurants we visited (Portside BBQ, Chops, 150 Central Park) were great. The Windjammer was ok. Food on Coco Cay was out of this world.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We just did routine stuff here. Nothing unusual and nothing really noteworthy.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Comedians were really good; band was great; aqua show was excellent, as was the ice show. We skipped Cats.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Our 4 year old grandson really enjoyed his time at Adventure Ocean. Great program.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Waiters and room steward were among the best we've experienced in our years of cruising. Every crew member was pleasant and professional.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was clean and well-kept. Hard to believe she's 14 years old.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin seemed bigger than it actually was. Not quite enough storage space though. The bathroom was poorly designed (toilet paper holders were impossible to reach; the sink was way too low, not nearly enough storage space).

Ship tip

Take the time to learn your way around. This was our 3rd cruise on an Oasis class ship, but we saw a lot of people who seemed lost.

Kids are fine it’s the parents that don’t respect others and don’t do their job as parents

I agree that the food is not as tasty as it has been in the past. A bit bland. Also, I agree with the statement regarding kids.

That’s why we cruise when school is in session. We love kids, but not so much on our cruises.

Appreciate your detailed review. Sorry the teens were unruly. Wish the cruise lines would enforce the rules they’ve said they have. Glad you enjoyed your cruise in spite of it!
