Review summary

The Oasis upgrade is very nice. We were surprised at the abundance of children on a January cruise. Don't get me wrong I enjoy children but not on my vacation. Children were everywhere in the Bars, Solarium( which is suppose to be 16 and older) not enforced on Oasis. It was a great cruise anyway. Still enjoy riding Royal.

Food was good, But children in this area daily, which is suppose to be 16 years of age and older. Very disappointed with Adult areas with children running around.

Solarium was good, except children were in the area and dining area daily. I hope RCCL goes back to posting a staff at Bistro to insure Adults only.

I normally try to book my cruise when kids are in school. That being said, i will never book another Christmas Cruise

Different areas of country have school breaks at different times. Jan and feb is a big time for school breaks

So glad you enjoyed. You would have thought by the middle Jan the kids would have been back to school. We try to cruise during school as my husband walks with a cane and not steady on his feet.

Nice review by the way!

I like kids too, but I don't think we should have to ask to have kids chased out, their parents should be watching them, and staff aware they don't belong in the adult areas. On our cruise they were climbing on top of the day bedz

The Solarium clearly has signs saying 16 and up. The exception is the Solarium Bistro, which allows children. Children aren't supposed to be lounging or hanging out in the Solarium and staff will say something if you mention it to them.

It’s a common misconception that the solarium area is 16+. Actually it’s only the pool and hot tubs. Also children are allowed in inclement weather.
