Review summary

It was the best of times, it was the not so best of times....

Ship experiences

Onboard Activities

zip line was cool. Flow rider is fun. There are however a ton of people (6,500) all fighting for the same set of resources.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Cats broadway show on the ship was terrible. The water show as well as the ice show was terrific. Comedy shows were really good too. A sports bar to watch games and sportscenter would have been a great option instead of sharing a karaoke bar with sporting events. And again, there are a ton of people wanting to see the shows so the variety of entertainment is limited because they have to do the same show multiple times to accommodate the volume of people on the ship.

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
We had a terrible Day 1 experience with the Head Waiter but after that our table staff and cabin person were terrific. If I could separate the two I would give the Head Waiter a 1 star and the cabin and table staff a 5 star.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Central Park is beautiful. The kids area is great and would have been wonderful to have when we had kids that age. The theater is very nice. As with most RCCL ships the Promenade is center stage. I would have rated this higher except the bar staff that are always asking if you want a drink weren't cleaning up the areas they were serving. Empty bottles and drink glasses littered the tables for long periods of time and the zero entrance pool had orange slices and spearmint leaves floating around in it from an overturned glass that no one addressed for hours, yet they were able to continue to serve more drinks.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Small. There wasn't enough room on the side of the bed to use as access. You have to climb from the end of the bed to get in. The cabin steward had to flip the nightstand from one side to the other each night to shuffle the bed side to side just to make the bed. Did I say small? Oh... and there aren't many hooks to hang things from, like wet swimsuits, jackets, etc... There were only three on the back of the bathroom door.

Ship tip

Make sure you understand the sleeping arrangements for a 3-4 person cabin. Other members of our party had grown children with them and they were put into a stateroom that only had a futon like couch for them to sleep on instead of the drop down bunks most other cruiselines offer. That was a huge miss. Don't make the same mistake. That scenario is only good for smaller children. Anyone with teenages will want to stay away from that.

Disembarkation

Getting 6500 people off the ship that fast is remarkable. We were self assist off the boat and easily made our 12:30 flight out of Sanford.

Crazeetrain67---You can't compare a balcony room to an inside room, especially this particular inside room. When doing research on this room (after I had already booked it) I saw a notation on this room stating that it was 10 square feet smaller than all of the other inside rooms. I was concerned that it would not be big enough since I had already seen a negative review on the same number on another deck. After seeing this review I booked another room! I'm doing a back to back cruise & I sure didn't want to spend 2 weeks in such cramped quarters!

I had a balcony room and there were three of us. There was only one bedside table, we had the beds together. If it's the two of you, there'll be plenty of room to maneuver without the need for crawling 😁

Did you leave your bed together or split apart to make 2 single beds? Did you have 1 or 2 bedside tables? I have this room booked & I need this information to decide if I need to get another room? We're 71 & 66 years old with bad knees & can't be crawling on our knees to get in & out of bed! Thanks so much for the review!
