Review summary

Found many false charges to my room due to bartenders running cards for incorrect orders ~$150 worth. When they were questioned why the charges were there;  their explanation was that it was refunded so it did not matter

We received a group discount @ $92 per room but they only honored $52.15. When confronted with the paperwork they blamed their employee and implied that was enough justification not to settle the rest.

The house keeping was amazing made sure our room was clean and worked around our schedule.

We had an early flight the day we got back into port, so we tried to take care of our bills the day before but they managed to screw it up. At 630 in the morning, I had deal with them again because they failed to do their job correctly the night before.

Had to argue with an employee about where I wanted to sit on the beach in Labadee. The employee argued that I had to sit in the direct sun with my 2 yr old  because he worked there. Went off without him after yelling at him to get away from my family and found a spot under a tree.

I have many other complaints about this cruise line but won't drag on. Don't waste your money with Royal Caribbean.

Watch out for their guides. They have a tendency to pull over on the side of the road to go to their preferred vendor selling stuff out of the back of their car.

Cozumel, Mexico

A lot of cruising as with anything in life is attitude, it is what you make it, people amaze me with all the complaining, your on vacation! Have fun!! Sometimes little misunderstandings get blown way out of order simply bc the "guest" will not listen to reason, trust me it's in their best interest for you to have a good time

Thank you both for replying. We are ready for change. We live in Texas so we've taken the good intineraries from Galveston, another reason we want to leave out of Florida.

I think the food is better on Royal Caribbean. Not to say that Carnival's was bad. Just not as good as RCL. Just my opinion.

Sorry for the typos...

@DFromATX I used to be a big Carnival supporter. That is until to many changes mostly towards entertainment cuts on board. To many occasions where entertainment staff would come out for a few minutes during ship activities and parties then disappear within the first 15-20 minutes leaving passengers to entertain themselves. It was my first Royal Carribbean cruise that really made me notice the difference and since then me and my wife have been spoiled. We love the cruise line. Norweigion is also a step above in total amenities. I believe the food itself is not that much different until you start getting into upgraded dining which in my opinion is also superior on both Royal and Norweigion. This being personal opinion I'd say your best resource in decided is taking the plunge and booking one. Best regards and happy cruising.

Jimnkathy, I've only cruised carnival but we are thinking of "upgrading" to either Royal Oasis or NCL Escape. No complaints with carnival except the food is mediocre. Is the food much different on royal?

My wife and I have cruised on Royal Caribbean 9 times and have never had a negative experience. We've also been to Labadee so I am familiar with it and it does have areas that are restricted to people who are in suites. People in other types of rooms are not allowed on that beach. The only other cruise line we've tried was Carnival and we found it ok but we much prefer Royal Caribbean.
