Review summary

My Dad wanted us to sail on this ship b/c he was impresses by the size; he lived to regret it a bit.  It was truly a lot more walking for him that he hadn't considered.  Pros for this ship: The food and staff were 5 stars from service, to taste to presentation.  My room was always tidy--kinda creepy how he knew when to show up??.  There was always a Jacuzzi open.  Central Park was unreal--in a good way, esp when a violinist is playing!  Cons:  activities for adults and teens shut down earlier than other cruises, I always felt like I was running from one end of the ship to the other, the teen activities that my teens really wanted to go to always seemed to be in the middle of dinner time and my teens said the music was really lacking.  I was told that there would be a daily gathering for 18-21 yo folks, but there never was.  My 18 yo daughter went to the night clubs but found kids her age so she had fun.

Snorkeling was not happening here. I wanted to buy souvenirs to help the Haitians, but sadly, they were all so aggressively pursuing us that I felt too intimidated to buy from any of them. I heard the zip line was good.

Green Grotto Cave was a "thumbs up" The tour guide was funny but also very knowledgeable. He took the time to answer all our questions. Put on mosquito spray before you go--this was not a cold cave. There are a lot of stairs and places where you need to duck. My dad decided to wait for us, he made the right decision. We hailed a taxi to get there. He was a great guy, but the second guy didn't take us to the beach we asked to go to. I think he got a kick-back for taking us to the one he brought us to.

Go to Chankanaab! We brought our own snorkel gear and spent the day at this great location. It was easy for my dad to get in and out b/c of the stairs into the water. Nachos were yummy. Clean restrooms w/showers. Many other activities ava but we just snorkeled.

I'll have an 18 year old when we sail next May. What suggestions does she have for fun that I can relay to him? Thanks!
