Review summary

The Southside Dance band was great.

Main dining room food and service was not so great most nights.  Mashed potatoes were better in Windjammer.  Late dinner conflicted with a lot of one time events on board which could have been scheduled better.

The Royal upsell is getting to be too much.  Everywhere on board there is a upsell to get what used to be free. It never stops either.  From walking on board to getting off the ship, there is upsell, pushing, drink packages, photos, videos, dinner upgrades, lunch upgrades, spa specials. Oh you want an exercise cla$$ or go to learn about improving your health and it ends in a sales pitch.

Cabin was in a great location (not far from food). Super clean, could watch ocean and diving from balcony, but it could get noisy out there.

Just ignore the people who sell stuff! It's honestly pretty easy if you really want to... also I'm sorry but who the crap goes on a cruise to learn more about their health?!?

Of the services, dinner etc- we just walked away but honestly unless we were on the promenade we never encountered it. There's what two paid options at lunch? $6 at Johnny Rockets and $15 at Giovanni's? Again don't want don't go there's 7 other options that are included. All lines pretty much charge for any gym "service" or class. They had a handful of free ones last trip and others that were paid

It's every line. You can still get off without spending anything extra if you don't want to. Drink packages are great if you are someone who drinks soda, coffees, a few cocktails they will save you money. If you're not then pay as you go or don't. Photos you don't even have to taken let alone purchase - just like going to Disneyland just keep walking. We never had one person try and sell us on

All the cruise lines do it, you don't have to buy just because they're selling. As far as the drink package Royal has the best deal. On NCL and Carnival every adult in your room and any room you are associated with have to buy the package and under 21 have to buy the soda package. As far as wifi package NCL charges 30 a day for unlimited streaming, Royal 13. Sailed Royal in May, sailing NCL in Oct
