Please consider strongly whether or not you want to trust NCL! They were completely unconcerned with our discomfort. They thought breathing in fumes for two weeks was acceptable. Cruising near Antarctica with our balcony door open (for fresh air), was less than comfortable.

Ship apparently disembarked late...so we were unable to board on time. There were no seats for people in the terminal! We had an early embarkation appointment, but due to the delay, it became a free for all, and no priority was given by appointment time.

Most staff did their jobs fine. The guest services desk, however, were less than helpful! Additionally, there were told to lie to us regarding the air conditioning and fumes probelm in our stateroom.

Air was not working when we arrived. After 3 days of complaining they finally fixed it. Once fixed, we had fumes coming in through the vents. Guest services pretended that they had no idea why this was happening. Many days of complaining later, they admitted that it was a problem they've been having for quite some time in a number of staterooms.
Ship tip
Don't sail on a ship (or with a cruise line) that they know has maintenance problems and they don't fix them!
Exhaust fumes? We had this happen one night on the jewel. Guest Services was very apologetic but I could tell from their response this happens fairly often
I have to say that broken AC followed by fumes would be a problem for me, too. No amount of positive attitude by the passengers would make that OK, particularly if they’ve known for some time that this was a problem. Why not put those affected cabins out of service for a while, instead of putting passenger comfort over a small amount of profit? Seems like there are more complaints coming from Norwegian passengers lately. It’s well known that they are struggling, but this isn’t the way to improve their situation. So sorry this happened to you on what looks like a bucket-list trip.
I was on the Sun a few months ago and had a great time with no complaints. No maintenance issues great food and service. I also make the best of all my cruises, no matter what the issue is big or small, cause a day of cruising is always better than a day at home.
