We had a great time on this 1/23/20 sail.
One rocky sea day when we first left Florida. Be prepared for this as many people were sea sick.
Note this as well if you take ferry to mainland in Cozumel. There is some kind of chemical smell that was making me feel more ugh than the heavy rocking.
If you have kids that may get bored easily may not be the best sail but I think this too is very kid-dependent.
Embarkation

We've only sailed out of NY so the differences in ports is like night and day. Very quick in Port Canaveral and all port staff are pleasant; opposite of NY where they all seem to hate their jobs/people
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Much better than expected especially with all the negative reviews.
We mostly ate in main dining rooms, Teppanyaki one night and La Cucina last night. Of the 2 buffets preferred the outdoor one the best. Service slow in Sports bar and they seem to get food from different areas. Experienced this both times we ate here. Lastly I have Celiac and the ship took special care with this. Teppanyaki they made my meal first and would not let me order miso soup as they couldn't verify it was gluten free since it came from an outdoor vendor. The gf waffles in Seven Seas each morning were great.
Onboard Activities

We didn't participate in much but there always was something happening on the ship. Loved the Mr. Sexy Legs contest and the Magic Show. Also pleasantly surprised because there are so many complaints in reviews there is nothing happening on this ship.
Entertainment

As stated above didn't do a ton but there always seemed to be something going on.
Children's Programs

My son is 11 and his group of older kids spent time in Entourage and the sports deck. He only went for a few hours our first 2 days. TBH I think he is at the age where cruising is boring so we did hear this a lot outside of port days where we did excursions. May have been different if he had a friend from home to keep him occupied as there really aren't that many kids on this ship. The ones we saw seemed to be from bigger families.
Service and Staff

Overall was good. Only issue that was out of the norm was we experienced a fire condition our second night. We were in sports bar and began to smell and then saw a ton of smoke. Staff was very non-chalant about it and while I get this is probably not to incite panic, their lack of initial response scared us more. We later were told it was an electrical fire in the arcade which is unsettling.
Ship Quality

Very clean. Layout was tricky at first but signage everywhere and you can easily figure it out if you take the time to do so.
Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was great. No complaints. And the hair dryer on the wall worked just fine 😆. Our steward while not super engaging was always very pleasant and room taken care of 2x daily. You could tell she was massively busy though which is not her fault.
Ship tip
Cruising will always be what you make of it. If you look for the negative you will find it. Do not let minor things ruin your trip especially if they work out in the end.
We originally booked Tulum and the cenotes but tour was cancelled due to lack of interest. We did Xcaret and had an amazing day. The underground cave river swim was the highlight and they have a great beach and all kinds of animals. My husband kept saying it was like Disney Animal Kingdom but no crowd and no walls/rules 😆.
Thank you for the review. We sail in Sept to Alaska for 11 days. I’ve seen so many bad reviews I am very apprehensive. Good point!!
It’s what you make of it, plus we are truly blessed for being able to vacation on a cruise.
