Review summary

For the price, I'd do this cruise again in a heartbeat! Was very uncrowded, relaxing, clean, and sufficiently entertaining. Oceanview room was nice enough we really didn't miss the balcony we'd had the previous 5 cruises. There are more interesting ports, but this was great for a quick get-away!

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Agent at the terminal was inexperienced, made a mistake, delayed us and had to be helped.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Didn't do any specialty restaurants. Dining was far more relaxed that the newer bigger ships of the other three cruise lines we've taken. Buffet? Food was average, service was exceptional, plenty of seating and area was very clean. Dining room was simple but elegant (not gaudy like some) with great service, excellent food, and relaxing, quiet atmosphere.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Fewer activities than we've had on larger ships (which were mostly poorly attended anyway) but more game-show type entertainment (mostly well attended though not by us.) Instead, we checked out games from the library an played them on the upper decks (which had ample tables and seating.)

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Stage shows were well worth it: two stage shows were unexpectedly phenomenal, comedy show was great, preview show was good. One of the lounge musicians was phenomenal, three others were okay and one really wasn't very good (maybe was the outdoor acoustics.)

Children's Programs

As a retired couple we didn't participate.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Wow! Can't praise them enough. Probably interacted with 50 - 100 of them, and there was only one that wasn't friendly, helpful and outgoing.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Simple elegance - not gaudy like many of the newer ships. A lot of common space: it never felt crowded like some megaships. Could sometimes walk the 1/3rd mile deck 6 promenade and never encounter anyone. First night found a little dirt on our room carpet, but other than that it was very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Seemed larger than the balcony rooms we've always had in the past. Plenty of drawer and cabinet space. Much nicer than expected.

Ship tip

Expect a relaxing cruise. Be friendly to the staff, be positive and you'll have a delightful time.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

3 out of 5
Just a terminal in an industrial area. Might be excursions to surrounding areas. Certainly lots of shuttles to Orlando, Daytona, and nearby cities.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

4 out of 5
Just a small island with a decent beach. Excursions are available (we skipped.) Good lunch buffet was provided. Nice to get away from islanders hawking goods and services.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Didn't do an excursion: did our own walking tour (plenty to see.) Many islanders along the streets politely trying to sell you something. Pretty clean.. Pretty crowded.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Portered our own bags. Fast! About 15 minutes from leaving our cabin to exiting the terminal.
