Review summary

Overall a nice vacation. My motto is if you dont have fun on a cruise it is your on fault. The Sun is a smaller older ship and not one of my favorites that I have sailed on, Overall the crew was what you expect, friendly and efficient but did not excel. The Cuban people need this to continue as it gives them an opportunity to make a decent living. Be generous but not to the scammers up front.

Arrived shortly after 11 am. Parked.100 yards away and was on the ship in 30 minutes.

Good things: Main dining room, Cagneys. Bar service was fast. Bad things: no 24 hour pizza or ice cream. Los Lobos disappointed.

Cabin steward started slow but warmed up later. MDR and Cagneys service were excellent, Los Lobos service was not.

AC never worked great, cabin was warm during the daytime and finally cool off about 2-3 am. Noticed a slight musty smell when we entered and it turned out there was a leak under the sink that was soaking through to the carpet. Older small shower but plenty of storage for a 4 day cruise.

Ship tip

On the stateroom decks the red fish swims toward the back of the ship.

Easy on and off. Spent the night before at the Hilton in Cocoa Beach. Their tiki bar is great!

Hot, hot, hot. But plenty of shopping and bars. Friends did a snorkeling excursion that they said was amazing, had to book online bc it was not offered thru NCL.

HAVANA, CUBA

Eye opening experience when you see how poor the average Cuban is and their living conditions. Avoid the scammers at the front of the square, the let you take picture demand $20 each. Other than that the Cuban people were for the most part very open and friendly. I was surprised at how honest they were about the failure of communism. All the old American cars are eye opening and most are taxis, we took one to the cabaret for $10 a person and got a free tour on the way.
