Review summary

I really enjoyed the cruise. The tours of the island really made us see the cultures of the people who resided there. I liked the private, small group tours of about six to eight persons because we could move faster and see more than with a huge bus load of people. Also, we could ask the driver questions about the island and hear his reply. I have been on the huge bus tours before, and they move much slower because if there is a stop where persons unload to see something, it takes more time to get them on and off the bus.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
It was quick and easy. We flew into Fort Lauderdale and were able to find our pre-arranged ground transportation quite easily because the agents who were at the airport had signs that identified themselves. They also took the time to walk us to the bus so that we did not get lost. After we got off the bus, it did not take very long for us to be checked in and to embark.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I did not like the garden Café Buffet choices, and neither did our traveling companions. The Great Outdoors (Buffet) had better choices. The Seven Seas and Four Seasons restaurants were wonderful. The service and the food were great. Also, I felt that there was not enough space and not enough tables in the Garden Café. Most of the time we had to search and try to find someone who was about to leave in order to sit down.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I only got in the hot tub which I really enjoyed. I did not go to the fitness center, but I looked in and it seemed really nice.

Entertainment

I did not go to any stage shows.

Children's Programs

No children were with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone on the ship was wonderful and they went out of their way to help if asked. They all went above and beyond. I think that this is the best staff that I have seen on all of the cruises that I have been on.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
I did not like the fact that I could not traverse through all of the floors. If I wanted to go to a restaurant on the fifth floor, for instance, I would have to walk as far as I could on the fifth floor, then go up to the sixth floor and continue to the point that I was looking for, then come back down to the fifth floor and complete my journey. This was very confusing and frustrating. The ship was very clean and very well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
I felt that the cabin and balcony were too small. We had to walk very near the wall to go from the door to the balcony. There was an open space when we first entered the room; then there was about three feet at the foot of the bed between the wall and the bed that we had to pass through, then there was an opening in front of the sofa. I usually like to have a snack on the balcony as I read, but this balcony was so small that it could not accomodate a small table like I have had on other balconies. The table was very small; about a foot square, and about knee high.

Ship tip

It is better to eat at either the Seven Seas or the Four Seasons Restaurants for meals. The food and the choices are much better.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida Did not visit port

We did not have enouth time. We only had time to make our flights.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

I loved this port. We walked around the town. The prices in this port were very reasonable for souvenirs.

Castries, St. Lucia

I loved this port. We went on a private tour of the island, but prices were very expensive for souvenirs.

Bridgetown, Barbados

I loved this port. We went on a private tour of the island. Prices were very expensive.

Fort-De-France, Martinique

4 out of 5
I liked this port, but again souvenirs here were very expensive. We walked around the island.

St. John's, Antigua

5 out of 5
I loved this port also and I was able to find a souvenir shop here that was reasonable, but they only sold souvenirs from St. Kitts. Other shops were expensive also, but not as expensive as the Martinique, Barbedos, or St Lucia. If one took time to look, other reasonable items could be found such as jewelry and other things.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was very easy and quick. We were able to disembark, find our luggage, and get through customs in about 30 minutes.
