Review summary

We had a really fun cruise and was very blessed that the weather was awesome. Scenery was wonderful and enjoyed the views of the glaciers from the ship.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
It took a long time, several different lines due to customs. It was a little confusing at times since several ships embarked in the same location and to make sure we were going to the right line.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Great food and service in the dining rooms.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Participated in shuffle board tournament, bean bag toss, soccer challenge. The soccer challenge was a little disappointing - thought it would be more of a shootout event instead was really teams playing against he other, but my son (who is eleven) got lost in the shuffle since his teammates were mainly bigger teenagers. But the shuffle board and bean bag were well run. Also participated in bingo, which was fun even though we did not win. And we went to the casino and participated in the blackjack and slot tournaments which were pretty well organized and fun.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
For the most part, the entertainment was really good. Might have been nice to have a magician on board (one of the comedians did do some juggling which was okay). Sometimes it was hard going from one entertainment show (like the production show) to another (like the game show). Often we had difficulty finding a seat for the game shows and the last event we ended up not staying because we could not find a seat.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
My son participated in the Splash Academy (age 11). It was disappointing that the game room with fusbol, air hockey, and other games were limited to the teenagers and the tweens only were able to go during one time. But for the most part he had fun. He did not participate in the performance that they put on.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone gave excellent service and was happy to help us out and was very friendly.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship was very clean. However, the design was a little clunky and it was hard to get from one end to the other end for the dining rooms (you couldn't stay on the floor but had to go up a level and then back down). We got lost a few times even a couple days into the cruise.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
When I selected the room the description indicated it slept 4, but luckily we only had 3 people. Overall it was pretty comfortable (bed, sofa that we slept on as well). Bathroom was small but that was expected. Would have been nice to have a robe so that we could use it for going to the hot tub/pool.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

Looked the ports

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Did zip lining which was very fun. Guides were great.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Visited the glacier and went whale watching. Was awesome views and we saw a lot of whales!

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Did a hike/river float that was a lot of fun, again excellent guide. Town was a bit of a walk. Didn't realize there was a convenience outlet by the pick up area to buy water.

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska

5 out of 5
Visited Exit glacier and then visited the Tram and wildlife conservatory on our way to Anchorage.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
No problems.
