The overall layout was very good. We found our way around with little problem after the first day. We had easy access to the departure sites for touring the ports of call.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
There could have been more choices on the dinner menu, but most food was good.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We didnt think we would like the juggler, but he was one of the best acts on the stage. He was hilarious. And he could juggle. His audience participation added to the show.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We had some wonderful staff, including Pluto, Melodina, and Luciano. They were friendly, professional, and very helpful. And they were fun to be around.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The Sun is a smaller cruise ship, which was nice for our first cruise. It made getting around easier. It did lack some of the options of a larger ship, but suited us nicely.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The shower was a real challenge. How do you shave your legs in the confined space? The cabins could have a few more electrical outlets, and possibly a clock.
The tour of Livingston was an eye opener to us. We were shocked at the poverty of this city. We enjoyed the boat trip to Livingston, and saw some of the beautiful scenery of the country. Our guide was good, but he was too rigid in his commentary. He did not interact with the tourists well.
We enjoyed the tour of Belize City and the Mayan ruins. We were disappointed at the ruins. We thought we would be able to see into the tombs, but were not able to. Our tour guide was very good. He knew his information, and also had us involved with his presentation quickly. After the tour we ate at an open restaurant and partook of native food. It was an experience for all of us.
We did not have enough time to see very much of Key West. It was interesting to compare the tourist scene of America to the tourist scene of foreign ports. Not a lot of difference, except they spoke more English and had nicer buildings. It was fun!
