The adventure on the Norwegian Sun

Sail Date: March 18, 2007

Reviewed: 9 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship was very nice, and it seemed very clean and tidy all the time, everywhere we went. Our room was always cleaned, twice a day (which was very nice because we often made a trip back to our room in the middle of the day). We loved how quiet our room was. When we retired to our room to sleep, we didn't hear a thing - it was great! The ship was also very elegant - very nicely decorated.

Pros: The food, the excursions, the service by our cabin stewards

Cons: Room service menu, unavailability of an excersion we thought we had booked (to Xel-ha)

Recommends Norwegian Sun? Yes!

The musical shows were great, and although one play was good, the others were a little strange so we didn't really love those.
Children's Programs
We don't have children, but the adult activities were great - lots of game show things (we love trivia games) and as I said above the musical acts were wonderful.
Ship Quality
Again, the restrooms, public areas, everything was always very nice and clean.
Food and Dining
The restaurants were wonderful! The food was outstanding and so plentiful. We thoroughly enjoyed the freshness of the food - the fruits and vegetables, the dessert... and the food was always served hot - awesome!
Cabin / Stateroom
Our room was great! The bed was so comfortable! It wasn't huge, but we had plenty of storage space, and we loved being at the end of a hallway because it was quiet.
Service and Staff
Our favorite staff members were the cabin stewards. They were so friendly and went above and beyond to keep everything so neat and clean in our rooms. Otherwise, only one staff member really took the time to talk to others - it's probably because they are so busy though...
Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico
The port was pretty good, but we didn't do much there. We shopped and then sat on the beach. It was very pretty though.
Santo Tomas De Castilla, Guatemala
We loved Guatemala. We immediately felt like we were able to mingle with the locals, and they were the warmest and friendliest people of all. They gave us a touching farewell that brought tears to my eyes.
Don't Miss: Las Escobas waterfall adventure - the hike and the freezing cold, beautiful waterfalls were awesome! Jorge was our tour guide, and he was great.
Cozumel, Mexico
This was a beautiful place. The shopping area seemed so nice and we felt very safe.
Don't Miss: The party boat - snorkeling, a private beach, and ample alcohol - what more could you want? Our ship crew on the catamaran were wonderful - excellent service!
Belize City, Belize
We loved Belize - everyone spoke great English, and the country was beautiful. The people were friendly and hospitable.
Don't Miss: Jungle Trek / Cave Tubing - what an awesome adventure! The caves were huge & our tour guide Chris was awesome.
