Review summary

Very unremarkable cruise. Would not sail with Norwegian again. Staff did not go out of their way to make this a stress-free vacation. Bartenders argued. Guest services refused to assist. Could never find anyone at the excursion desk. Wine selection was disgusting.

Embarkation

Very unremarkable. You embarked into a hallway with elevators. Nothing grand.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was good. Not much selection for dining areas apart from Versailles. Long wait times to get into Versailles. Wine selection in the beverage package was horrible. Meridian chardonnay was their only option in the chardonnay department ($5.00/bottle at the grocery stores in Houston, TX). No option to even upgrade your glass of wine to a decent glass. Forced you to buy a bottle of wine that was not much better than Meridian. Hugely disappointing.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Pool was overly crowded and appeared dirty. I didn't get near it. Very difficult to find chairs near the pool area. Bar areas were overly crowded with limited seating.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Performances were good and entertaining.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Bartenders appeared bothered when you ordered. One bartender even argued with me about my request to get 2 glasses at the same time despite Norwegian's policy that allows you to order two glasses at a time. Wait staff at Versailles were always nice. Guest services was HORRIBLE. They refused to assist us with setting up transportation to the Venice airport. They told us to go to the Internet cafe and google it !! I could never find anyone at the Excursion desk.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Very outdated ship. You embarked into a hallway with a set of elevators - very unremarkable. Pool area was over crowded. Tables were not cleaned off regularly so we typically had to clean them ourselves once we found an empty table in the bar area.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Room size and bathroom size were decent. Bathrooms appeared clean, although it did always have an odd sewage smell. Rooms were always promptly cleaned when we left the room.

Ship tip

Don't go on this cruise expecting a luxurious ship. Would put this ship on the level of Carnival. Pretty disappointing.

on the same cruise also, however I ended up in my cabin a lot because I was ill. When i did go out, I loved it, I thought the staff was always smiling and working together, we always did well with the wine choices, maybe what you wanted from guest services was just not possible
