Our first "longer" cruise on Norwegian Cruise Lines. Amenities on the ship were very good. Would suggest a better "map" of the ship's interior and various decks. Good entertainment. Great itinerary. Not a true fan of open dining except for "pay for food" options. Some servings weren't so great, not bad, but somewhat small.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food was ok....not exceptional...seems as though open dining affords some smaller portions and very few "nicer" things such as shrimp appetizers, or escargot, etc. Entrees were good & nicely served. Desserts could be improved somewhat. Ambiance was fine....nice dining rooms and 12th deck buffet was exceptional for breakfast & lunch.
Entertainment

Some were good; some were great, especially the last 2 nights at sea...very talented folks and very personable as well. Theatre was great.
Service and Staff

Excellent staff.....very helpful and even though speaking English was difficult for some, they did try hard and helped with anything we asked.
Ship Quality

Room steward was exceptional and most public areas were very clean as well. Decor was good also; pleasing to the eye. Accessibility was fine..everything was fairly easy to get to in most cases.
Cabin / Stateroom

Very nice, comfortable, VERY clean, could use a better/larger TV.
We have always enjoyed Cozumel and after not being there for a few years, what a pleasant surprise. Facilities on shore are much better than years before and the folks are very nice as well. Love the new shopping mall at the end of the dock. Don't miss that long taxi ride over the speed bumps which used to be the introduction to Cozumel.
Very nice area just onshore.....also went on a side tour to the Chacchoben ruins.....great trip, not to be missed. Tour guide was super good!!! Offered a history of Costa Maya, the Mayan empire's history and Mexico's part in its development.....
