Good with Drawbacks

Sail Date: November 13, 2011

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship was refurbished a year ago but we experienced several items requiring repair. Also, there was an on again off again strong sewage gas odor on deck eight near staterooms 8100 to 8118. When we complained they appeared to get rid of the odor but it always came back. The sliding doors in the bathroom kept falling off. Several seats in the theater had broken arms and seats.

Pros: Relaxing

Cons: Service and Food

Recommends Norwegian Star? No.

Food and Dining
The food was poor to average at best. No shrimp cocktail and poor quality steaks that were inch thick. They told me if I wanted good quality to go to the additional pay restaurants.
Ship Quality
Cabin / Stateroom
Excellent service and not too cramped.
Service and Staff
Entertainment
Belize City, Belize
A little better than Roatan but not much.
Don't Miss: nothing
Cozumel, Mexico
This is a real tourist area. A very good stop that you can do most anything.
Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
Like the next two stops if you don't go on some tour the ship offers it's not worth getting off the ship.
Don't Miss: nothing
Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico
Nothing more than a small, remote area built for shopping and bars but called a tourist area.
