Alaska is a must!!!

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

This was our first time cruising with this fleet. Although we were alittle disappointed we really enjoyed the staff. Our Captain was wondeful. The food in the buffet was ok.The desserts were alittle bland and had no taste to them,We really enjoyed the few restaurants we went to The Aqua,The LaTorta(Italian) and the Versalle.(The other restaurants you had to pay a cover charge $20 each.)The staff was wonderful and the food was great. We booked a Oceanveiw room which we don't usually do(we love the Balcony)but thought we would give it a whirl.Well they never put the twin beds together so we slept apart the whole cruise. But all in all Alaksa is a must see it is unexplainable!! Please take one extra day and stay in Seattle overnight before the cruise it's truley a Wonderful Place.Hotel, Doubletree right near the pier!!!! I wish we could take the bed and pillows home.Wonderful people, dine @ Elliotts on the pier you won't forget it. Alaska was like a dream!!!!!

Pros: The Service in the Casino & Dinning Rooms(Aqua,Latortora & Verstale)

Cons: The food in the Buffet.

Recommends Norwegian Star? No.

Ship Quality
It was Ok
Food and Dining
They say its freestyle but I saw no diffrence between the other cruises I have been on. You have an option you can dress up or not,Formal pictures or not.
Cabin / Stateroom
the size of the room was ok, bathroom was very small, the blanket was very comfortable,it was a downfeather cover.
Service and Staff
If it was based on just the restaurants and Casino staff and of course the Captain I would give them and excellent rating. But its asking for overall and we were disappointed in some staff which I have made no mention of!
Entertainment
The entertainment was very good.We were lucky enough to see The Blackstreet Boys. They were outstanding,Very Very funny. Please watch for them they will be Big!!!

Prince Rupert, British Columbia
We loved the look of the little town and were amazed by all the Bald Eagles(they were beautiful) But the stores where really expensive.
Don't Miss: The Eagles so many we couls not count. At least 3 in every tree.
