Review summary
We sailed on the Norwegian Star, and this was our first trip with NCL and "free-style" cruising. We have been on quite a few cruises before, all in the traditional style. Having many choices for dining was a real plus -La Trattoria, Le Bistro and Cagney's were all outstanding - but i must say that the main dining room and Market Place buffet are very average and service is not always great. The pool was also another area that was disappointing. It was very small for such a large ship. The entertainment onboard was not as good as past cruises, also. But there were many bright spots! The balcony rooms were very spacious and the baths were much more roomy than on any other cruise line that we have traveled with. The work-out facilities were excellent with free wieghts and many machines and even a lap pool and 2 spas. Knowing what to expect from the dining choices I think we would do it again!Ship experiences
