Had a fabulous time! Hardest part was gettin there and back. The flights are brutal. 27 hours over including layovers. 20 hours back. Mask up if people are coughing around you. We didn’t and we both caught a cold. Which made travel home worse.

Food and Dining

Liked some better than others. Cagnys good but they no longer have a petite fillet-my favorite. Did not like the good at Onda Italian. I love Italian (like La Cusina) but Onda was different and not good for me. Main Dining rooms good. Liked smaller one (Taste) better. Quieter than Windows.
Onda by Scarpetta

Really looked forward to trying this venue but it was a big disappointment. Just didn’t like their food. Put peas and carrots in my pasta- just weird. Waiter and rest of staff work hard and aimed to please but didn’t override the food. Loved limoncello as an after dinner drink!
The Local Bar & Grill

Fun spot for breakfast or lunch. Excellent hamburgers and Reubens.
Garden Cafe

Good selection. Crowed before excursions. Tip: They open Onda for breakfast buffet diners since it’s so crowded. Used it daily. Much quieter and better table spacing.
Cagney's Steakhouse

Loved the last redesign on the Spirit. Understated elegance. Muted colors lots of blues. Very well done.
Cabin / Stateroom

Not a lot of spaces. Small balcony. We were upgraded from a window so I think we got a smaller balcony. Location was convenient to pool, buffet, theater and buffet.
Ship tip
Book your restaurants and excursions early. Nice smaller ship.
Loved Sydney. Arrived 2 days early. Made our own reservation at Rydges in the Rocks on George St - Decore a little dated but Perfect location for touring. We climbed the bridge to walk across not to the top, walked around the opera house and spent a little time each day in the Botanical Garden which is fabulous! Food was excellent at Guylians on George St
Either Dusky or Doubtful or Dusky sound the announcer told us to watch the rocks as we left the sound to see an albatross pair. Used our binoculars to see them. Gorgeous. They just need their wings open to fly. No flapping needed due to their size.
Tea and Kangaroos. Drove us to a country club. After instructions they took us out on golf carts to see hundreds of kangaroos. Was the best ever. Pouring rain but it didn’t matter. Saw lots of joeys (babies)in and out of the pouches. Seeing wild kangaroos so close up was worth it! After that they served us tea or coffee with small cakes. One of our best ever excursions
We did an excursion called Devils and Roos where they took you on a 30 min drive to Wings Wildlife Park where we saw Tasmanian devils, wombats, birds and kangaroos. All animals are sent to them by veterinarians who have treated the animals. They are healthy but cannot live in the wild anymore. The highlights were feeding the kangaroos that are quite tame.
Highlights of Taurana & Māori Culture Tour Very disorganized. 30 min bus ride in hot weather with no air and no open windows. Went to a school for a show. 30 min late so stood around. Went to a MĀORI Village which was really their community center now. Sat in sun to hear them speak. Did not enjoy it.
That cruise seemed great. Having no a/c is horrible. That is not good.
My husband and I took the Norwegian spirit quite a few times and back then it was not refurbished but it was nice.
