Nice mellow cruise. Norwegian Sky is more for adults than kids. I like that! 😉

Review summary

I had a good time. Mellow and relaxing 😎 🐚🏖🍹Enjoy!!

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was easy. I was the second group on the ship. Miami is an easy place to get on a ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I have celiac disease. On the dining room menu they have a symbol next to a gluten free dish

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We only had one sea day, so I just hung out in the shade at the pool. 4 jacuzzis, 2 that allow kids and 2 for adults only. Only 5 people allowed in each jacuzzi and there is a lifeguard to enforce rules. Also, no drinking or bringing drinks into the pool or jacuzzi. There is a kids only little pool in the very front on the ship on deck 12.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All personnel were friendly and said hello whenever they saw you. My room steward was Benny. I forgot that on Norwegian they clean your room twice a day. No towels animals unless you request it. So if you have kids, request it.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
They just redid the Sky in February 2019 so the ship was in good shape. It is a small ship only 2,000 people. I feel it is more for adults than kids. I did see that they do have kids programs, guppies for kids 0-2 yrs. and splash academy for 3-12 yrs and then entourage for teens.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I liked my cabin. I found a sale for $99 + port fees for an inside room. I did not get to pick room. That’s ok for me, I was put on deck 10 which was under the pool deck so I did hear music and when they put out deck chairs at 6:30 am every morning. You can also hear them refilling the pools after they cleaned them.

Ship tip

More for adults than kids. Deck 10 is under the pool.

Ports of call

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

2 ships were here. Sun and the Sky were anchored off the island. Found some good shells. Water is nice. There are rocks in the water. They have a zip line for you adventure seekers. I did stingrays city. I’m 5 foot 3 inches tall and the water went to my chest, I say that because I can’t see any kids doing this - the water is too deep. A lady told me that Carnival’s stingrays excursion is better because water only goes to your waist.

Key West, Florida

4 out of 5
Went to the key west butterfly conservatory. Loved it. The price is $12, but I heard there is a coupon if you buy one you get one free, so $6 per person. Do it you won’t regret it. Wear good walking shoes if you want to walk Duval Street.

Nassau, Bahamas

4th time here. I just walked around and down to Junkanoo beach, which has gotten a lot more rocks than my last time I was here. It is not my favorite beach. Cable beach is a better beach but you must take cab or bus or Uber to get there.

Disembarkation

Easy. I just walked off with my bags.

I was on this cruise. This was my first Norwegian Cruise. I do agree that there wasn’t many kids on this ship and I loved that! It was more chill and laid back than carnival but I’m ok with that. I’ll definitely be going Norwegian again soon.
