We will cruise again, but not with this cruise line. Hidden fees, $5.00 bottles of water and they wouldn’t let u bring your own. They nickel and dime you to DEATH. We’re trying royal Caribbean next time. Don’t waste your time or money here
Embarkation
2 out of 5
It was crowded with inadequate space for all the passengers waiting to get on. A NCL employee came to the head of the line and was yelling at passengers.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
We didn’t buy the upgraded food pkg, but wished we had. Food was institutional and bland. Cheapest possible selections and inadequately chilled at times. A lot of the other passengers were making comments about the nasty food as well. I couldn’t wait to get off the ship so we could go to a restaurant and eat!
Palace Main Dining Room

One of the only places to get decent food, even if the portions were tiny. My fiancée side of corn and slaw came in condiment cups. One spoonful of each. I’m not kidding
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The pool was crowded and small, but the drink servers were there and doing a great job. Not much to do really. The casino was decent
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Mediocre and kind of hokey. At each event only a handful of people attended
Children's Programs
No kids
Service and Staff

The room attendant did her job very well. The hall smelled of vomit the entire trip. She tried to clean it up but was unable to.
Ship Quality

Common areas were ok. Average
Cabin / Stateroom

It was super tiny, but we paid for cheap and that’s what we got. Two single beds shoved together to make a queen. I awoke each morning in the valley between the two.
Ship tip
Buy the upgraded food pkg or you’ll starve.they also gouge for bottled water
We rented scooters and toured the island. The area just outside the port was dirty and smelled... the locals were rude, lazy and acted resentful of tourists presence
A small section of a private island shared by multiple cruise lines. Tall prison like walls marked each cruise lines “area”. Lots of lounge chairs shoved into the sand a foot apart. Not really much to see or do. We got there at 11:00 and NOTHING was set up or ready. Couldn’t even get a drink of water. We left and went back to the ship
Mainstream cruise lines are all the same. Variations on the same theme. Same prices for water on RC and a bit lower on CCL. They don't let you bring water/alcohol on board or water to hide alcohol. Beverages and beverage packages are revenue sources. Looking forward to booking a nice cheap getaway 1st NCL cruise.
Sorry but you get what you pay for. This is the cheapest trip on the NCL line. Great Stirrup is a private island for only Norwegian. There are no other cruise lines allowed there. There are bungalows that cost extra on the new silver cove area. Also bottled water is ridiculous. The filtration on the ship beats what you get in bottles of water. Stop killing the planet.
Interesting. We rarely purchase anything above the basic cruise fare and tips and have a great time. We drink water or tea at each meal and it has always tasted fine and is free. I’m confused about the comments about Great Stirrup Cay. Unless something has changed, this is owned by NCL and not used by other cruise lines.
