Review summary

I took the cruise to see Cuba and I’m glad I did. The Sky was not my favorite ship, but even if everything wasn’t great, I enjoyed myself but will try a different cruise line next time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Much of the food in the dining rooms came out over cooked. The pancakes were dry and anything but light and fluffy. Dinner at La Cucina was better than the dining rooms in terms of flavor, but my fish and shrimp were dry and over cooked as well. Buffets didn’t have a large selection like the bigger ships and I didn’t find anything that wowed me enough to go back for more. The salads were the best part of the meal.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pools were never too crowded and getting a lounge chair never a problem. I was able to relax with a book and people watch while working on my tan.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The main stage is small, so there was no way for the staff to put on much of a show. Enjoyable, but nothing great. I missed the comedian some I was in port. I went to hear the guitarist one evening. He had a nice voice, didn’t sing with any emotion. The other people in the lounge didn’t stay long. Barry, the piano man, was engaging and entertaining. Too bad he’s stuck in the atrium with room for only a dozen people to sit and join in.

Children's Programs

No children with us.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
All staff were friendly but I’m still waiting to meet my room steward

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship, including public bathrooms, were always clean. I didn’t like having to walk through many venues to reach the one you wanted, like an old railroad flat. The venues were so close, you heard the music from one while in the other.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was clean, the bed very comfortable. There was just enough room for our clothes so were lucky we packed light for the 4 day cruise. Room refurbish looked good, but the bathroom still needed updating. Old mirror with discoloration and the light was rusty or dirty inside. The couch was so close to the foot of the bed, I kept tripping when I got on and out of bed. If we had a third person in the cabin, there would have been no way to get to the bed with the couch open.

Ship tip

Pack light, enjoy your ports.
