Review summary

The destinations were the best! The staff needs to be schooled! Help was awful, food was awful. Thank God I loved my travel companions we had a great time! But, don't think NCL had anything to do with it! The all inclusive drink package is a waste of time the servers are lazy and the drinks weak. When the servers did come around they were rude! We did ask how they were tipped and they said we could put it on the card or leave cash! The pool server we had on the upper deck was lovely. We told him we would tip him well and we did! He deserved it! Our group of 17 did take care of the staff but not all seemed to care. NCL needs to up their game!

Comedian was very good! Didn't have time to see anything else dinner was 3 hours every night with a group of 17! Waiters seemed to wait on small tables and left us sit there. No drinks were offered just poured wine!

Only saw comedian at 11 by the time dinner was over (starting at 7 every night) always missed the shows! Couldn't make a 9:30 show!

Bartenders were rude to my older children. Seem to think they can say whatever they like. Pool staff also very rude if you need names I have them!

Cabin was small but clean. My children's tv did not work and it was never fixed. Did not have ice ever in my room! Never met steward! I always asked the one from the other end of the ship for help, he was always around.

Be prepared for cold food and rude servers!

I will cruise to Cuba in this ship late July. Just some questions: How and where is the visa process? What kind of information a US citizen must give? It's a smooth process?

It sounds like that for a "booze cruise" your expectations were a little high. I went on this cruise in November and yes the attention to detail were in my option not up to snuff but..I expected that and because I did...had a fantastic time.

@ rgbenning I totally agree with you. As far as when we went back in April we had a wonderful time drinks were not water down and staff was very friendly sometimes too friendly LOL we enjoyed our cruise but things can change sometimes people have bad days or the crew was different than when I was on there. we are getting ready to go on one in 19 days on the Royal Caribbean so I hope it's wonderful

I second that @evening. NCL Sky was my first cruise and I did enjoy myself. When they say it's a party ship they mean it. The food was standard party food on deck and the buffet was ok. Didn't have any water down drinks but at that time the drinks was not included in the trip. Sorry to hear your experience didn't turn out the same. On your next cruise try to be open minded and just go with the flow or you will have the same experience no matter what cruise line you choose. I'm wondering did your group of 17 experience the same problem or was it just you.

My experience on this ship last December was the exact opposite of this post. While I am not trying to say the individual did not experience problems I am thinking it is more along the lines of the individuals temperament and personality. I found the food was good, drinks were not watered down, and the staff was reasonably good. Just goes to show how a person's perspective can be radically different from the next person.

cruise carnival... will make your next cruise much better. food staff ports ships you name it, and it's 10x better than ncl

Good thing your friends were there to help you get thru things. Poor staff and poor food are two major negatives.
