Review summary

My wife and I typically cruise Carnival cruise lines but thought we would try Norwegian. Overall we were disappointed. The room was a bit small, but we could live with that. The food, at best was OK. My wife was very disappointed in the desert options. We traveled on the Norwegian Sky, which did offer no charge alcoholic drinks. While we are not heavy drinkers, that was a cost savings. Where the disappointment really kicked in was the lack of communication between the entertainment staff and the passengers. Other than the printed material that you did receive the night before, there was very in the way of announcements to remind you of upcoming events. We did attend a couple of gaming events, but again, the instructions on how to play were not made very clear. We heard this complaint from other guests as well.

Signage to exit the ship was poor at best, and the staff was not available to help in finding our way out.

Going forward we will go back to Carnival. Enough said.

It was an inside cabin and we did not expect much. The room was small. The room outside of the bed area consited of about 18 inches both sides of the bed.

Do not know what NCL vessel but we have had great times on Southward now retired, Jewel, Epic, Pearl and now going going on Newly redone Dawn to the new Belize private island. The food great, crew fantastic ( I speak several languages of the crew which they really smile about my trying). Our cruise directors/ staff were great and Captions are best in Industry. Norwegian is a part of Star Group ( biggest cruise group in Asia-Malaysian major owner plus lots of big investor around the world. (I worked my last 5 years before retiring for SCOMI a big group in Malaysia and 20 countries). Oceania and Regency are owned by Star. Carnival has high end Cruises also in group. If you own Carnival and NCL stock things are fantastic. The more you the mor you get with one line plus airline partners. , We have learned how to make our cruising experience enjoyable 40 anniversaries and birthday. When the hotel director personally sends to our table treats and French Champagne and the staff sings happy 65th it is a step above. Do not feel good at dinner and my desert sent to cabin not even asking. My wife and I live the way entertainers interacted with cruisers. Great have picture with Elton John. Michael Jackson and plus fab bands/shows. Something happens show and wow Tony Bennet and dancers special fillin show comes to life to fill in with great show band. I give credit all the floating cities on the oceans of the world and what do for crews, passenger and local wonders place for us to see and experience.
