Review summary
If I was to use one word to describe the ship, I would say "dated". As this ship used to be the Pride of Aloha, there are numerous murals and decorations depicting Hawaiian life. No, I wouldn't say this was a bad thing, but it left service in Hawaii in 2008 - 6 years ago.
When comparing this ship to Pride of America, which we cruised on last December, I can only say that NCL did a magnificent job of creating a Hawaiian experience on that ship. We would have liked to see a bit more Bahamian culture on board (some of us actually like "learning" something on these cruises).
Other items to mention:
The ship needs work. It appears that on a previous cruise, our bathroom door was pried open forcefully, as there were marks on the door and it always stuck while opening/closing.
Also, this might seem like a small item, but when nature calls, nature calls. The public restroom signs are tiny and they are the same size (and look the same) as the firefighters closets, hose connections, crew passageways, laundry drops, etc. They need to be bigger and easily identified.
Other than that, Cagney's was wonderfully delicious, the shows were good, the cabin stewards friendly and overall a good experience. We have been cruising many times, but was the first cruise for my brother-in-law.
Oh- yea...... He HATED the disembarkation - the lines, the customs wait, the "gathering of the baggage", the confusion (and he's a retired police officer). But that's the situation nowadays and it WAS in Miami.

Ship tip
Everyone take note. Even though you just want to get in the buffet line at the cafe, THERE really is a second buffet on the same deck outside. The cruise staff tells you about it, but nobody listens !! Go back there and enjoy the easy access to the food !!
