Review summary

Everything went very well we enjoyed the ship everything was clean and neat, once we were in the stateroom we were a little diappointed with the size, being our kids are really big as adults when booking I put age 16 and 13 and we all needed more room SEEM LIKE THEY WOULD HAVE TAKEN THAT INTO CONSIDERATION my neighboring stateroom was very upset. The food was very good and the shows were excellent. The visits to the different ports were good also. the room was the only compliant anytime they book kids today 13 and over they should consider a bigger room.

Hi witnessphoto, I hope this experience doesn’t put you off cruising at all. We have found that Carnival does have the largest standard staterooms of any of the mass market cruise lines. Norwegian Sky is an older, smaller ship but we’ve enjoyed a couple of cruises aboard her and love the Hawaiian décor. Stateroom size is tricky and can vary from ship to ship. (And having a balcony does not mean having more space. Sometimes the balcony plus the room are the exact same size as an oceanview or inside stateroom, meaning the space in your room is smaller.) Next time you’re ready to cruise come back here and ask a few questions, there are plenty of folks at cruiseline.com who’ll be happy to help. Or talk to an experienced cruise agent that can help you make the best choices for your vacation. Happy cruising!

I somewhat agree with NHguy's reply to your post. If you have been on 4 - 6 cruises as your profile claims, you should have known that inside cabins are the smallest of all the categories. You book a cabin. It is NOT the cruise lines responsibility to know your family stats. I would never EVER book an inside cabin for more than 2 people be it sailing with adults (which your description draws your kids to be the size of) or children. As an "experienced" cruiser, you should feel the same unless you were trying to save money in which case, don't bash a cruise line for your bad choice of a cabin.

Well if you had an inside cabin then it would have been small. If you had balcony stateroom, it is plenty big enough for 2 Adults and a small child on the couch, or 2 really small children on the pullout. You said 16 and 13, but they don't know how big you r children are. Did you send them a picture or their stats? They gave you the room you booked. If you knew your children are the size of adults then maybe you should have booked 2 staterooms instead of taking the cheap way out and cramming everybody into 1 stateroom . Don't blame the Cruise line for your stupidity and cheapness !
