A Relaxing Cruise

Sail Date: September 12, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship was nice but the rooms were small, we had no place to store our one suitcase in our oceanview cabin. We usually travel during hurricane season and we've been on Royal Caribean and Carnival. With RC and Carnival, the Captains did a good job at keeping us informed of the weather and boat speeds - general up-dates. During our Norweign the Captain never addressed us and no one gave us an explaination as to why ourr itenaray was slightly changed, although we assumed it was because of a hurricane in the Atlantic. Please note that this is not a smoke free ship and there seemed to be more smoking than non smoking areas.

Pros: Freestyle dinning - the food was excellent

Cons: the rooms were small

Recommends Norwegian Sky? Yes!

Service and Staff
The rooms were small and unlike some other cruise lines sample toiletries were not provided. Additionally, while our room attendant was "nice" she was not the best housekeeper on board.
Ship Quality
The ship's size was adequate, but accessibility to some areas was difficult because certain areas could only be accessed by using certain elevators.
Entertainment
Children's Programs
Food and Dining
The food was really good.
Nassau, Bahamas
This was our 4th time to Nassau. The Atlantis Hotel is nice but you have to be a local resident or hotel guest in order to see the aquarium. Also, the straw market had recently been destroyed by a hurricane so the strip was crowded with vendors.
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island
Great Stirrup Cay (Cruiseline Private Island), Bahamas
