Ok Cruise, but we won't do it again

Sail Date: May 30, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

It had all the necessary features of a cruise ship, and we enjoyed them, but nothing really special about it.

Pros: 2 for 1 martinis in aft lounge bar

Cons: lots of motion from engines and waves

Recommends Norwegian Sky? No.

Ship Quality
It was a small ship (fitting for a shorter cruise) and it was kept very clean
Cabin / Stateroom
We went with an interior stateroom to save money - big mistake. The beds were VERY hard, the room was very small, and we felt a lot of vibration from the engines through the headboard when going to sleep
Service and Staff
Most of the staff were great - very friendly and personable and really wanted to provide a good experience.
Food and Dining
Very good food quality and taste. We didn't do any of the additional pay restaurants; the quality and variety of the main restaurants was great
Entertainment
Very good music and a variety of it, as well as a variety of activities for all preferences
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island
We really didn't know what to do here...so we took a 20 min taxi to Port Lucaya and did some shopping and walked along the beach
Don't Miss: nothing that we experienced
Nassau, Bahamas
It was colder and windy on our day here, but we did a 3 stop snorkeling tour through Orbitz which would have been good except for the colder weather and rocky waves (and it was a 45 minute taxi out to the site...which got to be pretty long)
Great Stirrup Cay (Cruiseline Private Island), Bahamas
Pretty decent variety for the size of available space - a couple of beach options, activities, and a very good beach buffet
Don't Miss: Parasailing...but you're only up for 8-10 minutes
